How cold was it..............Dry cold isn't so bad it keeps the mosquitoes and deerflies away.
Low 20's and dropping. I bet the wind chill was pretty low running down the road with the tractor.

yeaaa yeaaa, I know, it gets a hundred below zero where you live and you work out in it in your speeedo and tenny shoes!! lol

Actually this winter has been warm til yesterday, was cold in forenoon here with a stiff breeze then in afternoon no wind with sun out and wasn't bad, this morning no breeze but it is only 10* but suns out and it's a dry cold but things will change Tuesday.

Thanks to that deer pantry video I been watching it about 5 minutes a day, morning and late afternoon, well thanks might be over rated since I have enough to watch now......
First time I heard of piebald deer.... "An all-white piebald deer is not to be confused with an albino deer which has a pink nose and eyes."

So you just moved here from Oregon? :D

You're right about the warm winter, yet I still have burned more firewood than normal. This morning I cleaned out my little dump trailer and started filling it with firewood from my field. THe thermometer said 20 but on that black trailer the sun was melting the snow and water was running out the back.

Tried some big Firewood Bags for first time, so far I like them, They should work well right at end of conveyor

We would have needed pallets for each bag to keep the wood off the ground and to stage the bags in the garage when moving wood inside for the winter. How do you access the splits? Pull down the sides as you take splits off the top? What did they cost and how many uses are you expecting. IIRC they were about $25 ea?

We decided to go with IBC totes. It takes about 45 minutes to modify them, and the only down side is we need to hand stack and that takes time. But they last for a long time and the "bladder" acts as rain/snow hood. We have $800 invested in 32 totes and each holds just under 1/2 of a full cord. Too heavy for many compact tractors but the LS can lift 2700 lbs.
