Plows are for amateurs

It was VERY slow going. I use a 42 blower on front of garden tractor. My snowblower has a 8” flat top above the auger. With the snow higher than the top of blower, I’d have to drive into snow and undercut about 8”, then stop before the undercut overhang fell off the back of of the blower. Then I’d reverse, hoping that the undercut now collapses in front of the blower.
Repeat 10,000 times. Only one broken shear bolt.
Luckily, my son was home and once we got the first path, he’d take a snow shovel and knock the top of the next path down to something manageable.
Spent 6-7 hours on day day storm. (2 outings). And another hour yesterday making more paths to sheds. Spent 2 hours shoveling yesterday at my moms.
I have another hour or so today shoveling around shed doors, and unburying my truck. You literally can’t see it.

Woke up today to one of the biggest snowfalls of my life. Probably 3 or more on the ground when I started snow blowing. Snowed a couple more inches after that.
I don稚 know where I would of put that much snow with a plow.
But it really is a pain when the snow is higher than the snowblower.

LOL. or higher than your front blade.
Been there done that!
I simply lifted my blade about 4-5" and pushed away that top layer,
turned around and plowed out.

Really nice looking setup. I've had blowers and blades in my past. When we used to get more dry snow in larger quantities, the blower worked well. I had a front mounted blower on a Ford tractor. In the last several years our snows were either too wet or in smaller amounts and for those the blade or bucket works well.
