Paul, I would consider that the ideal retirement. Getting paid to do what you love on your own schedule with other funds/income available as needed and meet needs of post demise loved ones.

Still working on my internet mess. Ubiquiti Unifi stuff near ready to deploy but not going to until I get a solid signal. My 4 yo Mofi apparently won’t configure for the APN 4GAS wants me to use, but if I stay on the AT&T Broadband APN I’m very likely to get Throttled after 22gb and that stays until end of the cycle. If I get throttled and switch APN’s I apparently stay throttled. So biting the bullet for new modem and antenna. There is also the possibility to switch to Verizon, but that entails reorientation of antenna about 90° of course that would require a change plan, at price increase naturally. A neighbor visited this morning and she got 4 bars on her Verizon iphone standing outside at corner of house. Verizon tower is only about 1/2 mile away, about 200 ft higher up the mountain, but I have some trees between us.

Ouch. I bit the bullet a while back and went with Verizon which has no throttling and no data limit.

The throttling was unbearable. My new provider also gave me a better modem so my speed and coverage basically trippled.

I also ditched my yagi.

Good evening all. 32F for the start, mostly clear, light breeze. Light wind day, stayed mostly clear, and high temp of 62F. Slow start today, woke up at 4:30 stayed awake for 1 hour plus. Cleaned up kitchen, went for bike ride, and walked with wife. Including pic of pelicans that migrate through here every year.
Covid update: Cooke 2227 confirmed cases, 213 active cases, Montague 1295 confirmed cases, 126 active cases, Grayson 71143 confirmed cases, 356 active cases, local 18 active.
Ken yes the SS is complex, good luck getting VHS converted to mp4
Don glad you were able to get your answers on the phone
Randy, great news on kidney function, Cooke Co says they only get 24 hour notice and have not finished the first responders with 2 shipments, still on the 1-A people :(
Dennis glad you were able to wade through the retirement scenario. wish it was better news for you. The vaccine links you gave look like good news for you
Roy glad you got to work ok, more good news on new PM
Ron no plans day hope it works for you, nice bird pic
Drew good luck on finding a snow blower you can use. pics of you baking please.
Mike sorry about friend, hope it warms up but it is winter after all.
Bill sorry about lack of info, enjoy you conservation.
Paul you sound like me, good luck with the less entertaining mining operation
Thomas good luck getting the "right" pans, have fun cooking
Billy yes you get a reduced benefit at 62, if you don't work or don't earn like you did when younger, difference when I started drawing SS was less than 20%. Glad you could visit your mom
Eric neat control panel, neat idea from your former coworkers
RNG sorry about the lack of rain, hate to hear how the claim is traumatizing you and PGE has no personal responsibility
Rich glad you could contribute, good to hear boss working with you. Hope you get rid of the right stuff!
Rick that was a lot of fence to pull up. Cooke county is not taking 1-B appointments yet hoping in the next week or two. Thanks for links
Don glad your mom got the vaccine,
RNG nice looking shotgun.
Ted glad the dogs are groomed and you expect shop time today.
Paul thanks for the link to the video on Tom
David good to hear progress on pipe project, enjoy your lobster, hope you can get vaccine soon
Drew sorry about the poor sales help. Congrats on new blower
Rich hope you get it worked out.
David glad you could work things out for Sophie's mom. Kids do want to changes things don't they.
Bill having the same problem in the US. One person was out of country when making the lockdown announcement :(
Rabdy hope the changes work for you
David I would think over the long haul that using Verizon will work better than ATT, and I have had better luck with Verizon as a mobile provider than ATT.
prayers for all especially Jay/Peg, Kyle's daughter/family of uncle, David(moss)/remodel/divorce, RNG/fire, Ron/hearing/son/furnace, Jim/sister & family, Phil/wife's eyes, and Country.
stay safe and health you all.

26 right now (feels colder, but maybe that's just old age), high about 30...
All quiet, otherwise...

Need to start coffee brewing. 32° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 35° with cloudy skies. Normal weather for this time of year in Michigan. Hope we get sunshine as forecast rest of the week. Couple of small projects today. One needs a trip to Menards. Need to get some exercise. Maybe take Sassy for a walk.
Do not catch 2 woodpeckers in same picture very often.

Mostly, great picture.

David, a few extra $$ may be worth it for no throttling.

Looking, the bills look like new. I have not gone across the border in over 10 years.

Rick, great job tearing down the old fence. I like doing that kind of job.

Rich, hope problem solving for company went well.

Drew, that blower should work for your sidewalks.

RNG, nice shotgun.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

good morning all.
36 going up to mid 40s today in mostly sunshine, same tomorrow.

going to pick up one more cedar board this morning to finish off my feeders and houses promised, then will shut
down my woodshop until the Spring and warmer weather.

Mostly you do an amazing job with your recap
Rich, hope you feel better each day

will be baking muffins today and putting my metal coffee sculpture up on wall after I get all the blue tape off it.
Metal must have been too cold in basement, paint wrinkled on coffee cups, so I sanded them and repainted them, now
it sort of looks like they are ceramic. Will take a pic later.

Good morning, such a nice change this week to have relatively dry weather, even if it is below freezing.

Popgadget, fascinating as it is, I dare not comment on your barrel work in case they call out a swat team to pounce on me for being associated with an Ak47 gun making forum  :)

Sodamo, that Verizon tower looks in a great place for reception. Doubt you will need to, but in that situation tweaking for optimum reception is generally best done at night. Why ? Still air gives more consistent propagation of radio waves ? Nah, just thinking less chance in the dark of you getting caught taking chainsaw to neighbor's trees. :D

Good morning, 26°F and going to 30. Wind NNW 5 mph. 40% chance of flurries.

Another energy conservation day today.

I read on the news yesterday that the Canadian airlines will be requiring proof of cv19 vaccination before they will bring you into Canada. No proof, no ride. This begins on the 7th. I guess the only other option is to slam the door completely and say NO people in or out of the country, period. Even if you are the CEO of a large corporation that came in last fall with no 2 week quarantine.
The Premier of Ontario is just as bad as the Alberta politicians....About a week or so in the spring, right after the lock down was in place (that he announced the Province was doing and the OPP [Ontario Provincial Gestapo] was enforcing the rules) he was caught at his cottage, 'checking on the plumbing' is what he claimed. I can tell you from knowing the real estate values in the area his cottage is at that I would have a maintenance company looking after everything. Lake Joseph and Lake Rosseau (pronounced Rosso), in Muskoka have very, very expensive cottages. He changed the rules then (because he got caught) to allow people to go to their cottages as long as they wore a mask and stayed 6' apart. Here are some of the cottages for sale. I will just bet that there is no acreage with them.
306 Burgess Road for $14,950,000.
Lake Rosseau for $14,499,000.
244B Hammer Bay Road, Lake Joseph for $7,995,000.
South Lake Joseph for $7,985,000.
30 Glenavy Lane for $7,395,000.

Have a safe day all
