My previous dog - Chocolate Lab - would stomp thru the cattails on this end of the lake and end up wandering around out on the ice. It got so I only take him out to the lake in the summer. My current dog - Chocolate Cocker Spaniel - has no desire to climb down the cliffs and get out on the ice. He stands with me on the cliffs and he will bark. I think hearing his bark echo around the cliffs on the lake makes him feel BIG. Whatever - it's a real relief.

The lake has been the undoing of quite a few animals. I find them floating on the surface after the ice goes out in the spring. Cows, deer & coyote.

The lake is fed by springs on this end. While the ice can get up to 14" thick - the area directly over the many springs will remain thin as a sheet of Suran Wrap. Snow will fall and the spring areas become completely undetectable. It's Natures own death trap.

We have a chinese crested that insists it is time to go to bed. He sleeps on his mattress beside our bed. He spins around and runs down the hallway to our bedroom door and turns to see if we are following. If not, he comes back to the lounge room and looks at us and spins round and runs to our bedroom door again and stands there looking at us. When we go for our showers/bed he hops onto his bed and goes to sleep.

She's also a typical girl and loves to shop. She has to inspect and root through bags when they are brought into the house.

Our one year old Boston expects us to pay an ice cube toll when we get ice out of the fridge. He stands at attention, gets his cube and runs off with his prize.

I forgot about that toll. We have to pay that one as well. Then there is the meat tax and tater chip tax. The tater chip tax is double the meat tax.

There are penalties for not paying the tater chip tax. Usually results in an 80lb shepherd in your lap hoovering your shirt Although doritos result with the shepherd in the lap whether you pay the toll or not

Any package that comes into the house my border collie will sniff it for minutes. My Heeler bumps them with her nose to see if they are alive I guess.

We have the life 360 app on our phones to keep track of the grandkids. I have mine set up to alert when one of the kids shows up or leaves the house.

Gypsy knows the tone my phone makes. If my phone makes that tone, she knows momma or one of her kids has arrived. She will stop what she's doing and go wait by the front door.

I love that app. It makes it really handy if something comes up and you need to respond.

We were at Silver Dollar city this summer with the boys. They are at that age where they can get some freedom in a theme park with out having to be glued to the parents It's hard to be cool with the girls and have the grandparents hanging around.

We could zoom in on the map and tell which ride they were on or at.

You will get hurt if you open a bag of Starburst jelly beans in our house.

The shepherd turns into a runaway bulldozer

I was doing two week rotations out of town helping out another branch at work.

Wife was looking to munch on something and opened up a bag of Starburst jelly beans forgetting how much our shepherd liked them.

Shepherd was in our room when my wife opened the bag up. That shepherd ran full tilt across the house and launched into my wifes recliner with her.

In the time that the shepherds paws leave the floor till she lands in your lap, your mind instantly runs through a bunch of scenarios on how this is gonna end very badly

My rescue Weimariner is an absolute video addict. If you are on the computer, his nose is in the screen, looking at your cell phone...his nose is there wanting to know whats going on. He watches tv and if there is a animal on..he knows it. If we put the iPad on the floor and play youtube videos..he will watch them until they stop. then smash his nose into the screen to get them going again.

They actually taste just like Starburst candies. Just in jelly bean form with the added benefit of not removing your fillings.

They are pretty comparable to jelly bellies in size and texture.

this horse is super sweet. i would never be worried she would hurt me. shes just a food junkie.

our neighbor has a sweet german shepherd that comes to visit every day. just wish he would stop peeing on my shop wall near man door. nasty habit.
