RNG, I retired at 62. Took SS, pension and 401k at the same time. I do not regret that one bit. Gave me 5 extra years to enjoy my wife during retirement while we both had good health. That was over 16 years ago. The lost SS money for retiring early will equal out when I am 85. I do not think it works out that way today.

.98” rain from the first system and looking for another half inch tomorrow. Temps in the 40s now, got to 56 in the midnight range.

Had my peas, greens and cornbread yesterday.
Horseradish is one of those acquired tastes that I hope I never acquire!

We had Christmas with my kids and grandkids yesterday. Going to try and swap out the bedroom TV, bought one with built in Roku.

Not much else today.

I did the same thing and I’m not sorry. It gave me three years at home with my late wife, instead of the three months I would have had if I’d waited to 65.

When I calculated a few years ago the age was in early 80s. I need to recalculate. I would retire now if I could get decent priced health insurance.

65°F and .73 inches rain. Looking like a repeat of yesterday.

So plans for the day same as yesterday, likely no mowing, maybe finish up my spreadsheets. Got my solar energy/electric ss for 2020 closed out. Only 38 hours of generator time for entire year, makes my previous upgrades worthwhile. Maybe today I’ll finish the financials and get jump on tax organization. Did an updated financial statement as of 12/31, maybe email it to financial advisor but not expecting to change anything.

Good morning,32 going up to 50, windy , some sun and 50

Seeing the roasts and ribs, think i put on some weight!

Ground too mushy for any real work. probably just refill the wood stack out front and fix some of the lights that got knocked down by the wind.
We will probably take down in a few weeks as the wife does not like me taking them down too soon.

Temp already at 50°, was 34° 4 hrs ago. All ice is gone from the trees.
Got 5 DVDs left to convert in my VHS stack, then need to start the VHSC stack. Some of those are already done. I’ve gone from 1985 to 1991. After the vhsc recorder I got an HD digital recorder that don’t need converted, as windows can now play the native format.

We ended up with 6" of wet heavy snow...the blower made pretty quick work of that. The little EGO battery powered blower did the walks.
I probably posted this before...but I was a bit concerned about how the cab heat would do...definitely no worries there! Hope the AC works as well, come hot weather!
Time for a beer and some of my wife's delicious chili! Maybe a movie too, in a bit

Lot of comments about LS' DIL's pup passing...very sad, but when it comes down to it, I think I'd rather our pup pass naturally then by euthanasia. I've had to have a couple dogs put to sleep, and I'm right there petting and stroking them when it happens...I'm sure most of you folks have been through the same and you know how heartbreaking it is...going naturally and quickly would be traumatic too...but I think it would be less traumatic then a purposeful act.
