I'd bet that if you unbolted both edges and let them sit......
This should "draw in" a major storm  Mother nature loves to catch us with our pants down.

Too late, I put my chains on today in anticipation of the coming rain:p

It sounds like the rain will "accumulate".:D
I hate rain on snow. Freezes everything to the ground and by the weekend you may need your chains.

It is going to be an interesting weather over Christmas here,
38 inches of snow on the ground from the other day and now they are talking a lot of rain.
What a roller coaster, last night at 5 is was 30F out this morning it's 40 out going to 50,
then Christmas day almost 60 (58) with a lot of rain, then Christmas night dropping to 22,
with a high Saturday of 29. It may be fun.
I expect the rain to pull every bit of frost out of the ground and we will have mud under any left over snow.

Although the snowplowing $ income was welcome, I really didnt want snow this early. Now it’s really tough to get these big bales out of the fields and hauled in. It also makes spreading organic fertilizer nearly impossible.
I hope the rain washes away all the snow and the ground freezes tight so I can get back to normal course of business.

You must be farther south then me.. We try to wrap it up by early October. Snow on the ground from halloween end of March is not uncommon.

Yeah Im down by corruption town, PA.
We usually dont get snow until mid January-mid March. I still have 150 tons of big bales out there. Now theyre snowed-in for a while. Cant get trucks in fields without getting stuck, either.

I'd rather rain on snow than snow on rain. We got about an inch last night after 1/4 inch of rain yesterday. Hit 49 degrees yesterday and was -2 this morning. There wasn't enough snow to justify starting the tractor, but a band drift across my driveway was about 6 inches deep. Went out to shovel it off and had to really watch my footing from the "bare" concrete.
