What was wrong with the loader?

Had a hydraulic oil temp sensor that was giving a faulty low oil temp. Due to that it was limiting the machines rpms as if it were cold.

Took advantage of another warm day here to get the last of the muck and water out of the deepest part of the pond. Brought in some good clay and walked it in with the loader. Should have a solid seal here now where I dug through a lot of rock. Also ordered a bar gard today for the inlet pipe. Bottom of pipe now sits about 30-36 inches above the bottom of the pond.

That picture knowing the height to the bottom of the pipe really shows the size of the dam!

Here's a pic looking straight on with the loader on top for reference. Moved a lot more dirt than I ever planned at the start of this project.

Working on a few artificial structures for fish while the pond bottom is still either dry or frozen. Here's the start of the first one. Need to finish adding the pex tubing to the sticks of pvc to create some branch like structure. This will be the largest as it's made of 20' sticks of pvc. Most left over from my siphon system.

Interesting.
Have you bought a 2021 fishing license yet?

Not yet but will for the few trips a year we take to the lake with the kids. Missouri does not require one when fishing on your own land.

I assumed that might be the case.....just pulling your chain a bit.

I knew that. Lol. Missouri also has a good program for landowners to stock ponds. Usually will stock for free, you just cant harvest the fish commercially. Need to look into the program a little more.

Why not just some actual trees/branches? You certainly have enough from the clearing. Just for longevity?

Exactly. Won't rot or decay and also lure friendly as the hooks won't penetrate the plastic and snag. I do have logs and stumps as well I'm using

Interesting fish structure but it should work well. And since you already have the material, it's a good way to utilize it rather than landfilling.

Great idea. At first, I thought those were 5 gallon buckets, but on 2nd look, I see they are 55 gallon buckets....so wow, I had to adjust my scale up an order of magnitude. That is a lot of plastic.
