pouring rain out, tornado alert posted plus alerts for local flooding.
went to check on weather station, darn thing had reset to .25 inches, so likely over two inches of rain now.
Low area between properties has about two feet of water in it. Looks like it should be draining somewhere but clearly isn't.
System is supposed to leave in about three hours but lots more yellow in radar until then. Area near Popgadget is worse than here.
As long as power stays on, sump pump works so all is well here.
That gen can't get hooked up too soon...

Lost power for 2 hours here and rain was forming rivers and washing over my driveway.
My oversized swale by the pool held up fine, at the end where it disperses down hill was about 20 feet wide with running water.

Saw the tornado and flood warnings. But calm here right now.

Fairly quiet out now but watching radar, bottom end of this storm is likely to slide right through here.
Ken, glad you are doing ok.
Just heard fire truck go out, truck has a seriously powerful engine, very distinctive sound, must be flooding or an accident nearby.
I think that's an older Pierce pumper at the local substation, and my memory was we put the biggest engine available in it to get up some of our steep hills.
Pretty sure the local volunteer fire company has all Pierce equipment now, I used to drive a Pierce "attack" mini truck with 250 gallons of water on it, mostly used for brush fires
and for places bigger equipment wouldn't fit. It was a first in truck and often had to drop a supply line going in if the lane was too small or had tree limbs in the way. And when we were done
the homeowner got a serious lecture about trimming their trees

Good point, Drew. No good waking up to your stuff floating around a flooded basement.

After a couple of hours of bright sun it’s pouring again, just over an inch so far.
Tornado watch, high wind warning and severe thunderstorm warning. Looks like it’ll be over in an hour.
