I always liked my former boss's saying at the end of the day.

It's Scotch o'clock!

Better than one electrician boss I had in the 80s. Why are electricians so cheap? Worked a day with him for about ten hours, non-stop and at the end he proclaimed "That was a good EIGHT hour day" Funny, how you never forget some things. Oh, making 3.50 cdn/hr as an apprentice!

It's what's up front that counts.

Are you old enough to remember that one?
I have to admit I always liked the healthy girls. :donut::donut:

Donuts, those are donuts.

"Censorship is a cowardice way to hide from the truth, it exposes prejudices and a lack of intellect and integrity...especially when it's under a pathetically lame and inconsistent guise of policy or preferences..."

Just rolls off the tongue, doesn't it!

That's what I told my uncle who had a Corvair.

Porsche seems to do best with the engine behind the driver. The front engine cars*, while "decent" never took off. The 911 and Boxster/Cayman variants have been at the top of the game for decades.

*I'm talking Sports Cars. The SUVs/sedan have certainly been very successful as far as sales goes (maybe, saved the company), but from a pure enthusiast view, the 928, 924, 944, while "very good" cars, just never were quite "good enough". Really a bit odd, considering that the early 911s were quite a hand full with all that weight out back. But they somehow instilled a love that was able to overcome the idiosyncrasies.

Full disclosure: I have a 2nd generation Boxster, and love it. I have driven all kinds of performance sports cars from Corvette to Ferrari, and even late model Boxster/Caymans and 911s. I would choose my '06 Boxster S above all because of the pureness of driver engagement and mechanical perfection. I rented a 2019 911 Carrera S for a couple days in Germany and while the out-and-out-performance was miles above my old girl, there was a level of artificial intelligence that is absent in my naturally aspirated, 6-speed manual car.

Grew up with the Flintstones and always hated the women in that show. That seemed to have been the start to the demise of any respect for the western man.

Not really that familiar with the Flintstones. Watched a few shows when I was a kid (late '60s, early '70s?), but we didn't have TV so it was occasional at a friends' house.

BUT, my guess is that the show didn't instigate the demise of the western man, but rather portrayed it.

It's funny timing, because at that time, the man was still king of his castle, but the show implied otherwise. Heck, even the cat threw him out of his own house in the intro! Like that was somehow funny.
