Some chainsaws "tighten" the caps at you use them. One of mine does that, and I also have to use a wrench to loosen it.

I had one on the past that did the same thing...

Funny you say that. First, not a big fan of the flippy caps at all. My echo tightens the oil cap by itself, so far, no wrenches but it's much much tighter than i when i put it back on.

My son is almost 50 now but when he was about 12 or 13 he wanted a snow machine real bad. He decided he would start an egg route to make money to pay for it. We had about 3 dozen chickens and he would ride his bike or Bombadier all over town delivering eggs. One day he had the rear compartment of the snow machine full of eggs and he met his buddy along the way. They decided to go down to the sand pit and "run the banks". Next day someone called wondering about her eggs. Oh no I forgot, be right over. He went out and the rear compartment was 6" deep in frozen whipped up eggs, shells, and cartons. He collected and delivered the eggs, and got the money.

I paid for the feed but he made enough to pay for his machine :) Still a good lesson we thought.

I'm a fan of flippy caps, just not the pathetic ones stihl makes!

The ones on my Husqvarna's work great!

It's fun, but you still can find better dals on eggs and chickens at the grocery store. Besides, there are 4 people just in this town who sell eggs.
I like doing it, and my dog likes having the various livestock around. When he's gone the chickens, turkeys, and pigs will be, also.
True, but I also like that they eat bugs, plus there's something nice about having your own supply chain.

If I really want eggs I have a neighbor with a lot of chickens that'll give them to me, he lives by himself so end up with plenty of extra once the laying starts.

Have flip caps on 3 different Stihl saws, all work flawlessly since day one. All saws get a lot of use and have never had an issue. But every husky (non-flip cap) saw I've ever had leaked from both tanks. So part of this is quality control by the makers, some is user error or preference, some is just plain bad luck I guess.

I've never had a problem with the flip caps on my stihl saws.

I never understood what the online outrage was all about. I kept thinking to myself, do any of these complainers even run stihl saws enough to have a valid complaint?

I just bought a new MS 151 TC this weekend with flip caps. Still fine.

My saws and brush cutter are 2005 models and they had a recall on the caps...... The newer ones are improved ...Stihl recalls 2.3 million products with fuel-cap problem - The Virginian-Pilot - The Virginian-Pilot

My son thinks the opposite, but I like the husky flip caps so much I bought replacements and made them fit on my Echo, no more stuck oil cap that needs strong fingers and or wrench. It even gets confusing when I use his Stihl the auto ON switch is backwards from Husky.
