I underestimated the top end size. No wonder your tractor was struggling, there's about 200 feet in that log.

Yeah then after I got that log on the deck and we looked it over and saw how crooked it was at the last 4' we decided to make it 16', obviously when I cut the tree down it must of bent when it hit the ground, I mean it was straight when I looked at it standing.......

Oh so you to have trees bend when they hit the ground, even worse when they bend after being sawed so hard to build with crooked lumber........

Yes but keep in mine red oak is lot heavier then SYP..........

Yes indeed, about 300 pounds for that size log. 16'6" is as long as I cut them, its all my little mill will take.

I added extensions so at the very most I can saw is 20'-7" but we go 20'-4" just get a bit of wiggle room, and then it usually requires two to roll log.

I had my neighbors saw a 20 foot fir log into studs, back when they used to do custom sawing. The first two 2x4s warped about 6 inches when they came off the mill; I had to put cinder blocks on them when I stacked them, just to get them straight while they were drying.

Just so you know you have the saw in the wrong direction for makin lumber.............

That log was already ant food so I cut it for firewood. I had it purposely forward on the forks so I could cut it without the frame getting in the way. Log weight calculator puts that at 2300 pounds assuming 25” at both ends and 12’ long.
