A good friend of mine had has last 3 beehives knocked down by a bear, so he goes outside towards the bear and the bear doesn't move at all, he's yelling, and whistling, making all sorts of noise, nothing... Then all of a sudden, the bear pops his/her head up, looks towards him, then turns and books it into the woods, the guy is thinking, yay, that bear was afraid of me. Then he turns around to go back to the house and sees that his wife walked out to see what all the noise was about! That bear wanted nothing to do with her!!!
Up here the bears are still a bit cautious around people, more shy than anything, unless it's a momma and her Cubs, she'll tear you a new one if you get too close.

Do you eat the Bear meat after you shoot them? We don't have bears down here. But when one of the locals go and hunt one down one of the church's will have a supper.

Nope, applesauce. You can see an almost empty basket of apples under the end of the table. I can lots of pears, never made pear sauce though.. Also lots of Blueberry and Scuppernong jelly, and blackberry preserves..
