Allowances and limits to email lists

That 100 limit is Outlook is good to know, as that is what my wife and I use.

We wouldn't worry about people not seeing the email addys because we'll probably be sending the full list to everyone anyway.

Geezers. I wish people would realize every time they send a list to say, 100 people, all in the TO: field, that first, someone is going to REPLY TO ALL: and then everyone will get that reply, and so-on. It makes for a quick way to become despised by many.

Second, every time someone sends something like that, it opens everyone else up to getting on some SPAM list because Madge or Bob down the block has a compromised PC or email system.

We've about 110 to maybe 120 houses but with 2 emails at some addresses. Probably will end up with about 150 emails.

Just an FYI,

That means you can only send 3 emails a day if you include them all.

150 + 150 + 150 + 150 = 600 which is over the 500 limit.

I'm curious like someone else if email is the best option for an Emergency. I guess it depends on what Emergency it is the Internet could be down and then what?

Can also send the email to SMS text for those that would prefer ‘emergencies’ communicated other than email.

Each carrier has their own extension

I am a dinosaur and still use a flip phone. But I think you should explore sending mass texts to the smart phone users. It would be a more effective way to get the word out. And us dinosaurs will perish as we read your email six hours later.

Think reply to all works from cc as well. Might want to advise people to use only the bcc. I agree about people using reply to all. I'm an editor, and I get onto people using it in connection with my newsletter.

We don't have a smart phone. Don't text ourselves.

I hit the wrong number earlier, the limit is 500. outlook email recipient limit - Google Search

500? Wow. Think we'll just need to advise them to use bcc if they use the list, to avoid Reply to All havoc.

No information there on what is allowed in the definer, e.g. Smoo, Joe (joesmoo@gmail.com); Weeny, Tenny (tennyweeny@hotmail.com) Think there may be the 32 character limit because I found an old email list with all sorts of identifiers in it.

According the the definition in the URL, the items can be separated by a comma as well.

Is why the mailing list feature in Word is a better option.
