I could have made the grade, but chickened out. Heck, I might even have gotten "Best of Show" in this thread... When I first bought my place it was bare land, so the first thing I did was throw up this 4x8 foot building to store tools, generator and other items. (It also should have had a quarter moon cut into the door.
After loading it onto my little 4 1/2x8 foot dump trailer I took it down the road to see how it would handle... not well, it turns out. While the trailer has a 2000 lb payload, as you can see the axle is just a bit narrow. I got out of the truck, walked back to the shed and started rocking it... and realized I could probably push the darned thing over. There's no way that I would be able to haul it 120 miles.
I called and told her it would have to wait until I bought a tandem axle trailer, but the next day I put on the backhoe and sunk a 55 gallon drum sans the top. Now if I get the "need" I won't have to rush 1/4 mile to the house... and I have enough lumber around to frame a bigger, better shed, put it on a trailer, and assemble it on site for her next year.
