I suppose auto cycle is no more dangerous then any other piece of equipment, as with all tools just have to pay attention and hands on the sides. But the need for auto cycle on smal splitter is very low on my list of needed features unless one has a wood splitter with box wedge with auto return, then I would definitely want it but yet they dont put it on their splitters.

Heres a nice splitter with box wedge and the operator keeps his hands on the levers, I'd want auto cycle so I could roll the next block into position, actually log lifts are the worse thing to have on a splitter, log crane is 10 times better........ Alpha 6 Box Wedge Splitter - YouTube

Looks like moving your wood in is a beech of a job ????

Looking at the video that alpha 6 is quite a slick machine. Why do you think the crane is so much better than the lift. That's an honest question - I have never used either. But watching your crane video and the alpa 6 video it seems the lift is pretty easy. I do realize they set it up for a demo so there must be something they didn't show us ???

I only have 11 more loads to get in but my arms got sore in 4..............

Heres the easy answer, cranes have a 20'+ reach in all 360* directions, which means no moving heavy round blocks to the lift table, or moving splitter. Just hook tongs on whereever the wood is, then with a tray on splitter a helper can load that up while the other is still splitting.

Also in that video they show a person rolling the heavy block to the lift table, if I had that 10k splitter I'd put a crane on it, rolling heavy blocks 10+ feet is not fun but winching is......

The weather was nice so I decided to go out and cut some kindling wood. I broke out the big saw for this one!!

Filled a 17cu.ft. garden trailer on one battery. I did break some to save battery, but I also had some battery life left.

After 4 loads I was doing more restacking then stacking so time to get the splitter out then when the extra help showed up things started to go a lot fast. Instead of 45-70 min to load wagon, we was loaded in 25min, much better........

On 6" wood I like a tall 12" wedge instead of the standard 6" wedge that all standard splitters come with.....

And when I think it's the same crew I had 30 years ago on the same splitter it makes me feel old............

I went out this morning, picked up this load, and was home with most of the day still ahead of me. It will be interesting to see if it grows or shrinks after I split it.

I just got it dumped when the battery went dead... I guess I'm supposed to charge it once in a while.

Tonight I went out and split a load to drop of at a friend's house who is going through some tough times. It was after dark so I started out using the cab light on my pickup, but found that the moon was bright enough so that it was all I needed.

I thought the batteries on dump trailers were charging when hooked up to trucks...

I thought the batteries on dump trailers were charging when hooked up to trucks...

I don't know about others but this one doesn't; it's just a small trailer. The battery is under the body. I realized today that if it ever does go dead, I'm going to have a hard time getting a charger onto it.
