Riptides,

I am NOT increasing any square feet (not really, I am finishing a tiny bit of attic into a closet).

Hopefully, that will not raise eyebrows.

Be well,
David

I meant in reference to lot sizes. Seems they want to move back to a minimum of 10 acres per house. Trying to slow growth down. I am familiar with where you are. Is a nice area.

68°F and .07 inches rain.

What I didn’t get done yesterday is still on the list. Amazing system!

Did spend time on computer during football to get a drawing for the revised network. Likely be changes of course.

Good Morning!!!! 75F @ 9:30AM. Abundant sunshine. High 89F. Winds light and variable.
Late posting this morning because I was out before the sunrise hosing off the solar panels. Even though they are ground mount, the columns are long enough my brush/squeege pole wasn't long enough to reach the top row. Out came the 8' step ladder... Took about an hour and got lots of dirt colored water off them. Be fun today to see if there's any improvement on electricity output.

Glad to hear you've turned the corner on the move, MFW. Now the real fun can begin! Why buy the cow when the milk is free, eh?

Placed an Amazon order a few weeks ago, Ted. A week later the status was listed as "undeliverable" and the order was cancelled. It was only by chance I noticed the cancellation when I was looking up another order, you'd have thought they'd at least notify me with an email or something. Reordered the same things and they're supposed to be here today. Good thing nothing on that order was needed urgently.:irked:

A Ranch King to go with your King Ranch? Nice, Rick!

Don't give up on your propane for the winter months until you try it, Drew. The BBQ here is propane fired and keeps working down into the low 40s, but not as well as in warmer temps. Still good to have gasoline to fall back on, though. I remember well the ice storms the last few years I lived in Ohio, and how the extra weight of it brought power lines down all over the state. Would have been nice to have a generator back then instead of wearing down coats and wool hats inside the house until the power came back on.

I agree, Ron: Weekends are made for staying at home. Maybe the best thing about retirement is enjoying less crowded streets and stores on weekdays.

Still no word of any kind from the solar contractor, David. Now I'm concerned that the four extra panels I want to add to the array may no longer be available because they've become obsolete. Things change fast in the solar power world.

I'd have to be pretty desperate to pay Home Depot prices for E0. But they help to take some of the sting out of the six bux/gallon price at the fuel depot.

The Dalwhinnie's price makes HD E0 look like a bargain, Kyle. The lizards wouldn't properly appreciate it, and seem happy with water from the garden hose or a melting ice cube.

Finished rebuilding the second motorcycle carb yesterday, and also got the shorter belt and smaller pulley installed on the van's alternator. Also got some cleanup done in the garage, but not enough. More of the same for today.

Placed orders for a new ignition system and lighter throttle return springs for the white bike, a male/male adapter for the firetruck draft hose screen, and a set of red logger's braces this morning. I normally where a regular size, but the Propper wildland pants in that size were big enough to fit over a pair of jeans. The Small/Short pair that got here Saturday were a perfect fit, and I'm hoping a similarly sized shirt will fit as well. It's due in this week.

We're under another Fire Weather Watch starting tonight through Wednesday, and the power company is already showing elevated chances for another shutoff. So much for a trip this week.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start!

53F, damp, and cloudy @ 14:00, high predicted to hit a whopping 55F ...

Went to bed early last night, woke up after about 3 hours, was up for quite a while, so got up late today ... :confused2:

Yesterday was largely conserve energy day ... did get sunflower feeders, which were empty, refilled.

I did spend a good bit of it in fish room and cleaning up/organizing things in other areas in the basement.

Probably going to be similar today.

First thing will be to see if wire got knocked loose on the whole house vacuum.

After that probably check the air pressure in water tank and top it off.

Mebbe get that haircut ...

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ...

45 early, 72 now, got the whole house humidifier cleaned and serviced, ordered new water filters and reconnected to the HVAC, should have done it sooner not hard.
Washed clothes since Miss Ellen had to go to the office today. I probably don’t do it right, but they’re done. Chili was good so I think we will have it again with som brats. I need to wash vehicles, but that won’t be today after crawling into space on the side of the attic to get to the humidifier.
Keep the pictures coming!
Be safe all.

41°f and cloudy this morning, going up to 51° today. Low 80s by Thursday, then back into the 50s for the weekend. Chance for rain every day this week except Thursday.

Got a few things done outside Saturday morning before the winds really picked up, turning leaves into shuriken. I retired to the garage, and gave my car windows a good cleaning and a nice polished coating of Rain-X.

Got a few more things done Sunday morning, including mowing one last time down by the road and walking the line trimmer along both sides of the swale between the pond and the road. Got the oil changed on my car, then took a nap just as the rains arrived. Hearing the low rumbling thunder as I drifted off was quite pleasant. It rained the remainder of the afternoon, and some heavier storms rolled through around 9:30pm, giving us more rain through most of the night. No complaints at all about this.

I got out for awhile Sunday, and stopped at Academy Sports in O'Fallon IL. The Wife and I have been talking about picking up a couple of recreational kayaks. We've both been canoers for most of our lives, but never really tried kayaking. She did while she was visiting her son in Texas a couple weeks ago, and really liked it. I've always wanted to, as it looks fun. This seems the right time of year to buy, being the end of the season around here. Academy's website said the local store had a limited supply of one I'm looking at, and they weren't kidding. They had three kayaks in stock, with one being the one I wanted to look at. When I asked the sales guy if he could order a second one, he flat out said he doubts it, that the ones they have were hard to come by. I was a bit surprised by that response, as their website suggests I can order them online and have them delivered to my home or picked up at the store. Whatever. I'll work it out without that guy's help.

Roy, the one thing I always remembered about that Starman movie was the scene in the car where he explained his understanding of traffic signals by observing her. Entertaining.

Rick, a friend of mine who moved to Florida earlier this year just joined a local band there called CHA-CHING. I got a couple of requests to like their Facebook Page, and wondered if you'd be sending them a cease and desist letter.

Going to have to try that castor oil remedy as well, RNG. We have at least one mole that seems to have caught on to the purpose of the scissor traps, and has learned to avoid them. He's even running new tunnels and mounds directly under and along the fence, where we can't put a trap.

"Rick, a friend of mine who moved to Florida earlier this year just joined a local band there called CHA-CHING. I got a couple of requests to like their Facebook Page, and wondered if you'd be sending them a cease and desist letter. "

Paul.. if each band member agrees to buy 32 oz. Sta-BIl 360 Marine, one Radiator Genie, and one Lock n' Lube ..... I'll let it pass.

I probably don’t do it right, but they’re done.
Now Randy, you know you don't want to do it too well... :D

shopping is done, nice visit to PA state store to get wine, place is enormous
definitely no two buck chuck here, pricing was at least a dollar or two more per bottle than NC, and no ten percent discount for six bottles or more

got to checkout at Giant and my 1.29 a pound broccoli florets rang up 2@2.49.
Uh, excuse me, I'm not paying five dollars for two small heads of broccoli. She couldn't figure it out
so I handed that back to her. Good thing I paid attention to the display

Amazon delivered my dishes again, hopefully I'll get to the bottom of this box and not find any chipped plates.
No energy to open it now.
Warm cloudy day out

Drew my understanding is that you can make your own E0 by taking a partial can of ethanol blend gas and adding water. Then shake it up and let it settle. Pure gas will be on top and water and ethanol on the bottom. It would be a pain to do all the time but if you didn't need it too often. There are videos on Youtube. Stihl sells a kit to do the same thing to measure how much ethanol is in your gas.

Rip,

It is DEF growing on me. My buddy and I this weekend had a .22 clinic for my daughter, his granddaughter & some nephew. we also hiked into my forest and looked for water etc.

It is pretty quiet, the RTE17 traffic sounds like white noise mostly.

Also there is minimal light pollution (at the moment). I truly love that!

Be well,
David
