Hay/grain elevators jam once in a while, spreaders that have the chain adjusted properly and a decent bottom never do...

You can have 50 tractors, but having only one operator means you can't use 50 at a time! lol

Lots of GOOD used farm tractors around, even for a decent price, problem is, on this site everyone thinks you have to have a new wiz bang yuppie tractor and that you have to buy new!!

I always wanted to get a firewood spreader,
I have plans for this one too,

This ought to hold some firewood!!

I bought it for $350.00 from my neighbor, he bought a new one. It works perfectly, but one of the double frames is rusted. That doesn't matter at all for what I have planned for it.

I'm not sure when I'll get to that project though...

I split some wood today, worked out ok behind the 4 wheeler, it was mostly Maple and red oak so it split quick. The tongue is too short on the splitter to run the log all the way through without hitting into the back of the 4 wheeler. But the maple and oak split easy about 1/3 the way through the log.

Works great to bring the crate to the log, less handling. This went to the neighbor on the other side.

I don't need as much firewood as a lot of you guys up north so I'll stick with the little racks I built, all together they hold about 3 cords and I only use about 2.

The baggage carts used by the airlines at the airports are pretty ideal for firewood storage. The are open on the sides and have curtains on both sides that can cover the firewood if you want. They are on wheels and have trailer hook up tied to the front axel that steers. And they can hook up behind each other as a train. They hold close to two cords each.

Did you ever think of turning your splitter around the other way. I made mine so I can face it either way which was simple to do on the splitter I have. If I'm pulling it with the trailer I work close to the trailer for a short throw. If I'm pulling it with the wheeler I turn it around so I'm not cramped for space by the wheeler.
