This is my neighbors mobile wood shed. Keeps it in the sun and breeze then pulls it down to the wood furnace when needed. M7040's post made me think of it.

My father had a trailer similar to that. He would fill it with 4 foot, then back it into a greenhouse and cut it up as needed.

I'm going to build a roof like that over my firewood spreader... I'll split into it and as it self unloads,

I'll unload it into my half cord boxes, "when I feel like it"! In the mean time, it will have a roof over it, that is attached to the sides of the spreader so If I want to move it around, I can.

I always wanted to get a firewood spreader, seemed like it would be handy as long as it worked and didn't jam up and break the chains. My neighbor has a conveyor he bought from a farmer, not sure what its original use was, but it worked ok for moving firewood away from the splitter. It worked better running off my Ford tractor PTO than it did off the HF electric motor. That went too fast and when it jammed it would break the chains.

My neighbor also now uses the metal hoops from a greenhouse to store his split wood. He covered it with sheets of leftover metal roofing, he used the roofing so it follows the curve of the hoops nicely. He loads it down the middle, one side is dry now, the other will be come February.
