GR2120 VS BX1880 54" deck performance?

I have a BX1880 I bought about a year ago. Mainly mow with it, and have 50 hours on it. I was seriously considering a GR2120 at the time, and am thinking about selling the BX and buying a GR. I got a really good deal on the BX and I think I can get all of my money back out of it. I noticed the 54" decks are different underneath between the BX and GR. The GR has a lot more baffles underneath. I like the way the BX mows. It will mow tall grass and fairly long stem grasses the first time over, which my old Cub cadet would not. Does the GR deck perform as well? Does the GR deck clog with wet grass? It seems the discharge is bigger on the BX. I can test drive the GR at the dealer, but don't know how the deck performs compared to the BX.

Welcome to TBN. Make sure you take a good look at the GR2120 transaxle setup before you take that leap.

I do not know anything about the BX, but I do have a GR2120, so ask away for details or pictures. As RickB commented, the mower deck on the GR is powered from the rear axle via a drive shaft. The input shaft to the mower deck gear box is driven in a CLOCK-WISE rotation as you view the mower gear box input shaft. Philip.

I don’t have any clogging with wet grass with my 2120 but tall stuff usually takes a second pass to get the more rigid stems.
