Gawd, you are an old fart. Not quite as old as I am, but close. We do have something in common though.... Drones....:D

Moss let's keep the thread subject out of this thread. We don't want it to get stitched shut.

We used to get 6 cents each when returning grain bags, wheich they wood reuse. Now I reuse as many as I can but every year or so get tired of having them around so into the trash they go. I only generate about 100 per year but should start using them for trash bags.

I can't think of another thread that has rambled as much as this one. It's great! Does anyone else remember "staking" threads? It used to be seen as an instruction on engineering drawings. You would strike a gash in the exposed threads with a chisel. It would not vibrate loose but you could still remove the nut with a wrench.

When you go frog gigging you place the frogs (croakers) into your sack. Make sure you keep the opening of the sack securely closed. As a small child it was my duty to follow the gigger around the pond at night and drag the sack with the frogs. I had an accident with sack opening management, and several of the frogs escaped. I received a good "dressing down' reference my sloth in sack management. In my defense, I wasn't very old.

:) There was an immediate job posting for your replacement: "Bag tender and gigger's apprentice. 3rd shift".

Or stake it with a center punch:

Put the single stitch side towards you, then pull the right corner. You're welcome.
Hey it worked! I tried to video it to post but it took two hands. I had to hold one string tight and to the right, while pulling on the other to unzip it. I didn't have a third hand to document it. So... no YouTube for you!

Cue the Soup ****!!!! :)

This was the way I was taught.

I have used an automatic center punch for many years to do that. If the hit is too light, then hit it on 4 sides. Better than any liquid thread locker you can name. Yet the nut can be removed by tools.

You have teeth don't you ? :)

Guess I won't be locking anymore threads with my teeth :D.

Teeth are the ultimate survival tool....!

On the topic of "threads"...

When pressed, the tailor, a material witness in the suit came apart at the seams. His altered testimony completely unraveled. The tale he had woven had been a complete fabrication...!

This thread has only a thimbleful of humor . It's shear madness. Let's cut it out. Time to find a new pattern. Now I'm gonna bolt...!

You're welcome! :D

Now someone explain to me the trick to getting a sack open, such as one has been stitched at the top like a bag of lump charcoal or briquettes. I 'seam' to remember it was as simple as pulling a 'rip' cord. I can't figure out how it's done now. :confused3: :mur:

Yeah, maybe this belongs in the 'you know your'e getting older thread'

Single thread towards you, start from the left. Double thread towards you, start from the right.
