Does anyone have solution for a roof/umbrella/cover for the backhoe seat on a RK55 with cab?I am kind of Leary fastening anything to the plastic body.
Thanks
Zach

The backhoe is plastic? You don't offer much info. Like what are your fabrication skills, if any? Do you have a welder? Are you looking for something to buy off the shelf?

My first choice would be something that attaches to backhoe, not the tractor. You don't want to be plowing with some kind of tent flopping around back there.

I could only find pictures of a BH6.5 and you probably have a BH8.5, so assuming they are similar in design, I'd use that U shaped handle bar mount and run it up higher for a fabric awning (assuming you're after just a sunshade, since there's no info on your climate)

I agree that it would be better to have it attach to the BH itself rather than the cab. Yes I can weld and fabricate and spend hours making a roof but I was looking for something easy that I can buy online and use out of the box. I was hoping someone all ready went thru the learning curve.

Thanks for the info. I have been looking at these but there is not much feedback on how they actually hold up. My local JD dealer sells one of thier umbrellas that mount to a ROPS but again it would require fabricating a mounting system to the cab or making a mounting bracket to somewhere on the seat. I was hoping someone went thru the trial and error of doing it. Thanks again

Tampa Florida. Yes you are correct it is a 8.5. I think you are right that the u bar is a good point to attach. Thanks

I used metal conduit and shade cloth for the front. Maybe you could do the same for over your backhoe. I use 3/4 inch conduit as a mount and hammer a section flat so it does not rotate and the 1/2 conduit slides in and i drilled a hole and put in a screw on each so they stay in place. the 1/2 inch conduit has a 90 degree bend and I hammered the ends and drilled holes so there is a cross piece to keep the shade cloth spread out.
