Back to my posts and boards I'm thinking of having rough cut. How is White Oak for Carpenter Bees? Do they love it or hate it more than pine? Weight for a 2 x 6 x 8 compared to pine? Harder to cut with a circular saw?

Oak is way heavier and way harder than pine. I can’t comment on the bee resistance.

The crane ain’t bad but have you got a 4gpm pump in that thing?

I have no idea all's the manual says is two stage pump, the tag on the pump only has serial and date No. on it, think it was a 22 ton. I do know its 30 years old and heavily modified and will never see vertical again, it could but I wont..........

You could try the SC recipe................
Multi-purpose protective finish for exterior wood surfaces
Prevents attacks from termites, insects and resists mold & mildew
Top coat with any oil-based primer, paint or stain after 24 hours

I'm not sure there is a season on feral hogs anywhere... Pretty much 365 days a year, at least anywhere I've been. Some places regulate night hunting but that's about it. I like living where there are pigs.. I can hunt all year long!

Invasive species that are hard to control!!!

So how is the bacon on wild hogs?

Not very exciting but it's a picture. Opening an old skid trail that has grown up in striped maple and beech saplings in the last 25 years. Just using a chain saw or forestry saw to cut at ground level. Then drag them to the side. Should finish tomorrow. That will make three days work - probably one day for a young ambitious guy

I never heard a brushcutter/bushsaw called a forestry saw before. I dont think its worth clearing but it is good exercise, I even seen on TV long ago that if one does enough exercise it turns them into a young feeling ambitious guy, think it was a guy called Jack...........

Maybe just the exercise makes it worth it but your right there isn't much up in there but it makes a nice trailer loop with one of my other trails that has good wood on it. So to me it is worth it. I guess all the words don't get to Maine - to far over towards the edge probably. I'm thinking on Jack. Jack be nimble or Jack Lalane ????????
