That one looks like it has a log or two in it. The other day you mentioned generating a lot of bio-mass in this project. What do you do with that ? I have a hard time breaking even on bio-mass here so most of it stays where it falls. I only move what I have to.

Cool, sounds like you have been having fun...BUT.... you have to explain that box with the stand in the picture.

I'll only be 95 in 2050.. And probably be pushing up daises.. I'm not fancy enough to push up geraniums!

The box is off the floor so tractor forks can get under it, so in two weeks I'll set the AC on it, then cover it, then ratchet strap box top down and see you next June, summer is over, yee haa!!!!

My son says he sells his cedar at that same price, $1.50/BF=$20.00-ish for a 4x4x10'. He also said if a 4x4x10' white oak sells for $14.00, that $1.05/BF.... So I dont think I wasn't to far off on $.90 BF for red oak or $12.00....

The grade makes a lot of difference. Here prime white oak is going for $1.30 a foot in the log and thatç—´ from a mill that doesn稚 even saw it so theyæ±*e selling it to someone else for more money. I壇 guess theyæ±*e making 20 percent for loading and trucking it. But I知 guessing theyæ±*e not sawing barrel grade oak into post and the next grade down is worth like half. As long as theyæ±*e solid without major defects I壇 say $14 is a good price. Btw a board foot is a square foot an inch thick. For most calculations you値l be using 144 cubic inches of wood per board feet. If you were doing a even number like 6 or 12 inches wide maybe you wouldn稚 bother converting to inches. A 12 wide 1 think board 8 long would be 8 BF no calculating necessary. 4x4x120 ( can稚 mix feet and inches for calculating) = 1920 divided by 144 = 13.3 feet.

Thanks for the BF lesson, I always have to ask my son. 1"x12"x12' is 12 BF, thats all I can remember.....

I was going to mention it this weekend so you beat me to it. Looks like a split roof design going on, half flat, other half has a pitch so the snow will slide off next month and your wife is inside ordering pizza.... :thumbsup:
