Great safety thinking all. I know I spent time on my grandpa's knee on the tractor when I was a tyke, but I'm sure it was totally unsafe.

But still might try to leverage all of this into buying a bigger machine...I have a window of opportunity at home...

My fiancé runs our tractor. Teach her to operate the tractor and she can help out on jobs. We sometimes pull out small trees using a brush grubber. She runs the tractor and I handle putting the grubber on and off.

Getting a bigger tractor is something that happens when people realize the need more capacity to do work...doing it to add a passenger does not make sense. And like others have said, once she does it a couple of times, the new wears off. If the tractor you have is all you need, spend the money to buy a UTV like a basic Mule. Both of you can ride together to spread seed, fertilizer, spray etc etc.

Mahindra still makes a few flat fender models. Popular in some parts of the world as the family grocery getter.

You looking at it all wrong, this is the opportunity for you to buy a second probably smaller tractor Like a BX with backhoe or keep the 770 you have and make it "her" tractor and you get the tractor you want. The idea of the buddy seat on a CUT is a very bad idea. From a safety standpoint and comfort too. Anything less than a fully enclosed cab tractor large enough to actually have a buddy seat is not going to work.

Or a chance to get a bigger tractor with a cab. Either way a win. Bigger tractor, more tools(toys). My has said that if she didn't get my son to get his little tractor and FEL to help her at the house, she was going to go buy her own that she could use.

I have the original seat that came on my small LS CUT (xg3025), soon to be made into a buddy seat set out over the fender. I am going to fab the mounts to go from the main seat frame, up and over the fender. I will also make up a footrest that will get mounted to the lower portion of the footrest. The seat WILL have a seatbelt.

When I have the BH on, the wifey instantly jumps on and sits back there! She LOVES to go for a tractor ride! She has no interest in operating it.
Our land is flat, no big drainage ditches, etc... Safety is always on my mind ( I am a paramedic and have pretty much seen it all)... it is not a state fair ride... the tractor is not operated like one. If there is a greater risk doing a certain task... well then she gets off... simple.

I used to cut 5 acres with a Craftsman garden tractor, with a small utility trailer on it. I had made her a flat seat going across the trailer. She rode with me for hours.... we would both get off and be covered in dust, dirt, and grass clippings..... GOOD TIMES!
