I've been in Austin Texas for a week and a day for my oldest daughters wedding. Kinda busy and never got on a computer the whole time I was gone.

/QUOTE]

I was wondering why you were so quiet. Those are a couple of very nice wedding pictures. Congrats !!

Thanks Gordon..

Me quiet?? Nah... just gone for a bit.:cool:

So as far as the fire starting conversation going on, I use the Fatwood to light them (single match) and then I have tons of cutoffs from the BSM edging and stuff... I collect them up and cut them to about 8" lengths for kindling.. Nice even, stackable and consistently easy to start.

Anyone here familiar with these tree harvesters? Seems to me that rotary blade shouldn't slow down like it does on 15" wood.
How NOT To Cut Trees With The Tigercat 718E Buncher - YouTube

WOW that thing really slows down a lot! They clear cut a couple fields for me, mostly saw timber pines 20-26" diameters and they sounded like the one in the video when it was cutting those 4-6" trees! Not sure on the machine designation they used here though.

I have billions and billions.. never tried a pine cone though.. Exactly how do you light them?
Pine cones here, you can light them with a match, but we sure don't have billions here on my place, and there's sure no shortage of sawdust/used oil and grocery bags...

He posted that just one minute before I stole it, so it wasn't there when you posted the link. I've always wondered; how well did those little tricycles like having a great big tree on the front end? It seems like they might be a bit top heavy.
Oh thats why I didn't see that comment. I mostly run the skidder while the other no-common sense young person kept flipping it over, it's all about releasing the 15-20" tree that was just cut the right direction at the right time. 3 wheel machines are lot more maneuverable then 4, but track is best.

Thats because SC has the most volatile fatwood in the country, hows it feel to be a winner.........Have you tried the pine cone trick?
