I don't equate interest in an email list with paying customers of the final product, whatever it turns out to be.

I signed up for this reason, "which will notify people when the satellite broadband service will arrive in their local areas." So they may not equate, but the do relate.

He has successfully been preselling high ticket technology for 12 years what do you think is different with this venture? NASA said they can't wait until Musk can get 4 more pushed up to the ISS.

Off topic but in my opinion the spacex program is a step backwards from the previous space shuttles we had.

In my opinion NASA has become an ineffective bureaucracy, 51 years since first Moon landing we should have been on Mars by now! Private enterprises (no pun intended) like SpaceX are our future.

+1 Next stop Mars :)

SN5 prototype "possibly" doing a 150 meter test hop today

The next big step towards a functional Starship

ps. SpaceX has applied for a license to roll out five million 'UFO on a stick' end-user terminals, after the 700,000 US residents signed up to be updated about the service's availability

Aug 6 SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is expected to launch the tenth batch of approximately 60 satellites for Starlink broadband network, a mission designated Starlink 9.

That is a big thing to launch and re land it. Hope all goes well. Do we know why it did not test fire yesterday?

Agreed! Just like most Federal agencies - a bloated bureaucracy so loaded down with rules and regulations it can no longer be effective. I tell those who advocate for the Feds to take over all health care - go talk to a few veterans and ask them how well Federal heath care works for veterans. Around here most doctors are now refusing to take Medicare patients because that's a bureaucratic nightmare. And don't even get me started on how well the BLM (Bureau of Land Management, NOT Burn, Loot, and Murder) takes care of our public lands.
