I guess the link isn’t working. Google it, it’s worth the thirty seconds to find.

Marvelous Randy, sure puts a smile on one's face.

and for you musicians, are those round planar microphones the mike equivalents of electrostatic speakers? Never saw them before, they
must have some advantage.

66°F ans clear skies this morning, and got up to 90° this afternoon. Looks like we're in the 90-ish pattern here for the foreseeable future, at least according to the iThingie weather widget.

Today was a scheduled day off from work, our Independence Day holiday. Got a whole lot of nothing done around here today. Was already warm and humid when I went out to feed the chickens this morning, so I skipped the idea of getting in a bike ride before it got too hot. Will try again tomorrow morning, maybe a little earlier. Ran some errands for The Wife, which included a trip to WallyWorld to pick up some things. That was no fun, as it seemed everyone in the area was also off work today ... and in the store. I did pick up a pair of new work boots, although they don't seem nearly as sturdy as the last pair. Stopped at Rural King to pick up more RM43 for our weed management. That stuff works slow, but man does it work. Spent the rest of the day "conserving energy." Wife wants loaded nachos for dinner tonight, and I'm only too happy to comply (my favorite food on the planet).

Hoping the ground has dried enough from the recent rains to get some mowing done tomorrow. Getting kind of scruffy around here.

JAAAAAAAYYYYY!!!!! You're back! Good to hear from you, buddy. We were getting a little worried. Glad things have calmed for you and your wife.

I was talking with our design engineer yesterday about the days off this month, and we both joked that being this close to retirement we're both worried that we might start to like having more time off. When I asked my boss what days he wanted me there, he said it didn't really matter. So we just settled on Fridays.

Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable weekend.

They are singing into standard large diaphragm condenser studio mics, Drew. The large planar device in front of it is a wind screen (or pop filter), which helps break up the air coming out while singing. When that air hits a sensitive microphone, it can sound like someone hit it with a hammer. Hard consonants are the worst - like "P" pops - as they produce a sudden rush of focused air that hits hard.

It's essentially just a thin layer of nylon mesh stretched over a round hoop. Similar to panty hose.

thanks PJ. I saw both types there thought it was something new. Electrostatic membrane speakers were the cat's meow way back when,
but windscreen makes more sense. Nothing worse than reporter in a hurricane where you can't hear anything...

Don, is getting the exemption worth it. Maybe out in Pecos?

Today, July 3rd, 41 counties applied to the Governor and qualified for an exemption from the TX mandatory face mask law.
Exempt counties are listed at the bottom of this page:
Executive Order GA-29 – TDEM

our County has 1390 active cases so it will be a while before we are down below 20 active cases to be considered for an exemption.
I was in Randall's grocery today 100% had mask on, only one guy had his around his neck and was drinking a fountain drink while walking around the store.:confused3:
