Scam?

I say flag it & move on....don't try to toy with them. I THOUGHT I was going to do that once (saw a brand new, never out of box except to take the pictures) Lincoln MIG welder (something like $1,500) for $700.... brought it up HERE in fact.....everyone here, everyone here (at home) said JUMP ON IT!!!

Reached out, was ready to buy it that day.... never heard back. Tried again, never heard back. Interestingly, I did a wider search, saw same exact thing in different cities, all "only out of brand new box to take this picture" description....

I think they're trying to collect phone numbers or email addresses (but freely admit I don't know that)

I think they like email for they can use gmail or such using a vpn setup and not trackable. A phone number even a prepaid phone does give you an area code.

I have played with them some, sellers and buyers. Can be fun just don't get emotionally into so they can play with you. The one I liked was the caring father who wanted my four row JD planters for his son who needed them. He gave me the son's address, one of the islands on North Carolina Coast. Yard was not large enough for the planters, much less a tractor.

If you don't have an email address for just such as this you ought to get one. I use one address for any such even with some companies who I think may resell it.

The fact that they are always asking $1000 or so, for a pristine tractor which any tractor dealer would be very happy buy, for many times that amount, should be a clear indication to everyone that it isn't legitimate.

Sadly, it's not. :confused3:
Except sometimes it IS legitimate.. some people are not tech savvy, and others just want to quickly get rid of memories.. it happens..

Yes, and sometimes that phone call from the Nigerian Lottery Commission IS legitimate! You just don't know!

Of course, people do sometimes sell things cheaper than they should. However, these ads are ridiculous. They cannot withstand any level of scrutiny. Clearly, some people can not, or do not want to see all the red flags.

Again, no one is going to sell a pristine $15,000 tractor on Craigs list, for $1,000. Okay, maybe they would, if they just stole it, and the cops are on the way there.

You say, perhaps they are not tech savvy? In that case, would it not be less technical, much faster, and easier, to just make a phone call, and sell it to a dealer for $8,000? I bet they are there to pick it up as soon as you hang up the phone! That would a pretty fast riddance.

Then again, perhaps they are Amish, and they don't have a phone? :D

Anyone who can't see this ad for what it is, should probably get a second opinion when they make financial decisions. Especially, if it involves winning the Nigerian Lottery.

Well, here's a fine BX with no ABS light, airbag or engine lights on for only $1090. Wish they had a couple at that price!
I used a throw away email service and made them a $4000 offer and also stated that I would pay them to ship it to me.

What the heck is an "air baghandbag*light", unless they mean the airbag light stays on and it has the optional handbag light?
