Todays shop time.

Now, if I can find the time, I want to start a land plane project. I have all the metal, just need to get it cut to size and welded up. A lot easier said than done.
I have two metal projects that just don't seem to get done. First, fabricating a bracket to mount the remotes for my Top N Tilt kit for my box blade, and Second, a trencher and mount for my Back Hoe. I have the metal for both of these including the hard face edge I cut off my then 72in back blade when I shortened it to work better with my BX.

My M59 had a crack around a pin I had to weld. IMG_8821.JPGIMG_8822.JPG

Here is tomorrow's shop time (I guess technically today's since it's after midnight):

The bushing in the end of the cutterbar on our New Holland 461 mower conditioner decided it did not need to stay in one piece anymore.
I theoretically have one in stock, just need to figure out where I put it.

Finally fixed my mobile bases for a couple of my bench vises. Originally built these stands so I could clamp them to my worktable when I need them and wheel them out of the way when not in use. Unfortunately the bases were too small so they were unstable and as such, unsafe depending on swivel caster direction. Been unhappy and fighting with these stands since I built them a few years ago.

Thanks to Terry's (Big Barn) encouragement, I successfully removed the welded on casters and made larger, more stable bases. Super happy about the result.

As a good friend of mine said recently... "things get done by just DOING it". No truer words... got to dive in to your shop projects and have fun.

those elevated stands look great. Nice, and safer, to get work up to the right level so you aren't leaning over so much. I always wanted an air lifted stand for my mowers, never got it, ,lots of guys here have made their own. Knowing how to weld seems to enable so many interesting projects.

Building a Taj Ma Wall shoe rack for the better half. Drilled 704 holes the past two evenings for adjustable 5mm shelf pins. Wanted this furniture to be convertible to bookcases so lots of flexibility being designed in. My arms are tired! Used a Woodpecker shelf pin jig and plunge router. Really appreciate the easy indexing and ability to do both imperial and metric sizing/spacing.

Well last night's shop time was not productive. I deep sliced my pointer finger while finishing the handle of an extremely sharp carving knife. I will spare you the photo of the carnage. Lesson learned, pay attention no matter how easy/mundane the task! Hoping I don't have nerve damage.

Ouch! Hate to hear of any of us having such accidents.
On your drawer and door handle need, do you have the space to router out a finger slot on the back of the drawer or doors where they contact the cabinet. Those should not snag.
