Checking in-
Spring comes all at once around here, and I really have to stay focused on getting the garden in and lawn maintenance started. I've been getting up before sunrise to walk the dog in the early morning light when the temperature is better tolerated by Brogen. Right now he's a panting, shedding, speed bump.
Wednesday was HHH and essentially wasted day traveling 24 miles east of here for a pharmacy run down to the “Big City”, returning home, and then traveling 24 miles west ( to get a new rider mower battery. At least I had decent A/C. I did manage to mow part of the lawn for bird watching and a walking path around the lower perimeter to mess with the ticks.
Thursday was another HHH day, but I did plant more seed in the garden and mulched more of the garden with hoarded cardboard boxes. I could be a chewy.com® advertiser.
And today - A humid overcast 67ºF with light fog/drizzle (0.02” reported) for this morning’s low temperature. A hot and humid 81ºF presently and with enough sunshine this afternoon maybe a T-storm will percolate up. And tonight some much needed rain showers.
Phase 1 of the garden is done. I am concentrating my garden layout similar to the square foot gardening recommendations for plant spacing = I use a tape measure to plant seeds and some seeds are too freakin' small for shaking old hands, but it's done. I will keep the repotted tomatoes unplanted until after the next shot of cold 40ºF mornings with the next cold front next week. Next week I should be done until my Fall planting.
Billy- Yes that was a garter snake. It’s around 12” long.
Drew- Welcome back!!!! At least you and the docs now know what is happening and my + thoughts, wishes, and prayers that your treatment is successful. Let the realtors earn their commissions.
Ted- Nice job as usual.
I really enjoy the pics, vids, stories, and projects posted here. I much rather read what goes on here than the "news."
My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.
