"If I saw that going down my road, I would call the police"...now there is a statement about one's own character if I ever heard one.

I have had the police called on me before by some do-gooder, and the caller actually ends up being the one that is laughed at. Like the police do not have real criminals that they would rather be chasing instead of some guy trying to get by like towing a trailer down a roadway. Usually the police show up and start the conversation with, "You are not going to believe this, but someone called..." They never do anything, they can't, they have to let two-thirds of the people go that do very bad things, let alone someone just trying to get by.

The last time I had that happen I was driving a skidder down the road.

It is NOT against the law.

Like tractors, as long as a logger is going from woodlot to woodlot, or from home to woodlot or vice versa, it is perfectly legal. It is the same thing with tractors used in agriculture...

Ya, but a skidder wouldn't have had any problem moving that down the road.

I don't mind equipment on the road, sometimes you just gotta move something and this is the best way to do it at that moment. What I don't like is the guys who drive on the road with their chains or steel tracks tearing up the blacktop or throwing rocks everywhere or leaving a 6" layer of mud & manure all over the road. Not saying anyone in particular on here, I'm just talking about locals near me and their "I don't care about anyone else" attitude. This extends to wintertime when people insist on plowing their rocky driveway across the road leaving softball sized rocks and or ice in the road caked with snow.
These guys towin the trailer in the video, did they pick up any debris they left along the way? Nails in the road for the next guy to find? Tree branches? You do what you have to, but don't make me break my equipment because you only care about you.

It痴 against the law here to plow snow across a public road... yet people do it anyways. What gets really scary is when somebody pushes or blows it into the road for the state plow to take care of... it can get interesting fast when you top a rise after the plowing is done and suddenly find a foot of snow in the road.

It's against the law here too, but that means nothing. Years ago I lost a plow headlight when I hit 1/2 a boulder someone plowed into the road and I ran over it. The extra weight of my plow on the front was enough to snap the light right off the bracket. The rock was concealed in the snow trail he left in the road.

He wasn't hurting anyone, damaging property or being violent.
