Good morning. Our run of dry weather continues, clear skies all day today with little wind and a high of 21C/70F.

Yesterday I was out early to take advantage of some light cloud cover and stayed out most of the day with a knapsack on my back spraying weeds. After tea I had a couple of hours fishing. The tench soon moved in to where I baited with hemp and sweetcorn, making the water fizz with tiny bubbles. Again I used the old glass fibre rod I bought when I was 11, although it wasn't a complete nostalgia trip as I caught far more fish than I ever did at that age. As the sun faded I was surprised to catch two small tench that were 6"-7" in length. That is smaller than when they were first introduced, so they must be offspring of that first stocking.

LS, "loafing shed" is a new term to me, had to look it up to see if you were building a bakery.

RNG, good to see you managed to get the panels into position without cracking one, or loosing a tractor. If I had your panels the sheep would be queing up for that shady patch underneath.

Randy, thanks for what sounds like good news on Drew.

Don, shame about the battery warranty. In this country 13 months before failing on something like that would be classed as unfit for purpose regardless of manufacturers warranty, money would have to be refunded by whoever sold it.

Roy, being audited remotely must feel strange. At least there is no risk of having to eat lunch with someone who has given you an unjust non-conformance.

Mostly, you need to find a short cut to get you back home in time for a nap. ;)

Yeah, it is...but I expect the AS 9100 registration audit (later this year) may also be remote, so this may be a preview of coming events.
This audit is, actually, an internal systems audit. You may be familiar with the company I work for, GKN Aerospace. My plant was part of a regional group with some shared resources. There's a major transition going on which should result in each site being more independent. But being in transition means we still share some processes.
We'll get through it, no doubt...but it is a bit of a hassle

Poured first cup of coffee. 61° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 84° with mostly cloudy skies. Not sure what I will get done today. Do need to get some grocery shopping done.
Starling's have been a real problem at feeders. Driving all the other birds away. They even drove the Bluebirds out of birdhouse. After one day of not putting feed out all is quiet. Ducks and Cranes showed up yesterday. Will see if they continue coming.
Nice color in today's sunrise.

Drew, prayers you are on your way to better health.

RS, never seen cans in laying down in pantry. Does that stop them from falling out? Got a video of Squeak squeaking?

David, canopy project looks good.

RNG, solar panels look good. Not sure about tractor rolling down hill. Play safe.

64 and foggy again, going to 78 and likely rain later.

Buppies, sorry about all that rain. I read where 15 or 20 miles of the Parkway was closed due to washouts and rockfall. We've only gotten a total of 0.95 in of rain since May 1, when we got over an inch. Hope your place is okay.

RNG, nothing like an almost tip over to get the juices flowing, huh? I've had a couple. Solar looks good.

David, another brilliant project!

Eric, congrats on having a crop of young fish. I'll have to look up "tench" but I hope it has nothing to do with stench. I need to wet my line soon.

Thomas, are those emuffins enticing that deer?

Jay, is that a garter snake? I saw a 6 foot black snake on the hiking trail yesterday...about a foot from where I was about to place my next footstep...didn't know I could move so fast. Also heard a lot of treefrogs in the woods, and saw one on the board and batten siding on the back of the barn, where a pair hang out every year.

Roasted coffee yesterday, and feel like a second cup is in my near future.

Have a good day!
