Good morning!!!!

Good morning to all! Low of 42, going for a high of 72. Cloudy right now. It has been so dry lately that this morning I could smell the humidity in the air... I hope we get some showers. It seems the weather guessers are down playing the chances now, saying not everyone will get a shower....

BEF, nice lawn area.... have you thought of setting up a chip and putt? Think of the possibility! Or... maybe a drone school...you could have a rental fleet...

Eric, I am surprised that you got that cold... hope all of wifeys plants faired well..

Looking, eagerly awaiting the audio of the new stack.

Drew, hope your showing went well and you are now busy packing.... after you are feeling better!

RNG, you did well setting up all your components and getting the connections together. The drone sure does show the large scale of your accomplishments so far. Nice to hear you are now making more progress on the solar. Keep the pics coming!

Yesterday I started installing some split rail fencing around the area of the landscaping / pond project. I will put welded wire fencing up on the split rail and make a larger area for the dogs to play in. That will continue today, if we do not get any rain. If it does rain, I will make a run to town to get the fencing, hopefully will only need 4 rolls.... at least that is what I am planning.

Everyone have a great day and start to the week.

Good morning. It was 55° here this morning and already 67°. Like don noted .. the humidity is back at 75%. Our high is forecast to get to 83° this afternoon. There is some much needed rain in our forecast this week, as well.

Ron .. your pictures show up as invalid attachments on my iPad. Same for RNG's picture. BEF's field pic in thee above post works just fine.

I'm thinking .. more yaupon chopping this morning. I started a new burn pile, near my shop, to dispose of the yaupon in that area, instead of tractoring it all out to one of the pastures.

I need to get the 84" rear finish mower out and ready for mowing. I'm sure it will need blade sharpening or replacement but, I already have a new set of blades for it. I found replacement blades at Oregon that are way less than the OEM blades. The ones I get are conventional high lift blades but they do have Gator mulching blades for it, as well. A bit of grease in PTO shaft u-joints and spindles, check oil in the gear box and should be good to go.

Our county is down to a single Covid case now, rest all recovered, .. and no deaths.

Hope everyone has a safe and productive start to your week.

Prayers to all.

56 going to 64, and the wind is back again today.

Rip, I have several spots of poison ivy I want to spray, but the wind has been too strong, except when the frost or dew is still on the leaves.

Yesterday's long freeze and frost did some damage to our pecans, walnuts, paulownias and some of the milkweed patch we leave for the monarchs.

Ron, I can't see your pix, either. I had the TBN pop-up scam to buy Norton this morning.

Kyle, sounds like a great meal you made for the missus. I made waffles for breakfast, and finally decided we'd do our first curbside pickup of restaurant food since the lockdown...we went to our favorite Tex-Mex after ordering online...40 mile roundtrip was worth it. I watch almost every Orioles game, DVR many of them so I can start them late, skip the commercials, and catch up before the end...I must be an optimist. Now our best player had colon cancer surgery this spring.

Our oldest son came by to see his mom for mother's day...kept 10 feet away...brought gifts, including a nice big box of 5.56 for me for doing their taxes. :) He got a real kick seeing his father with a beard...first one I've ever grown...coronabeard. He's bugged me before to grow one so I'm glad he's happy.

Thomas, cool having turkeys that close.

RS, those photos of does in that tranquil setting looks like an art piece.

41°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 60° today.

The Wife's nephew came by Friday evening to pick up his "stimulus" check, which somehow was mailed to our address. His mother brought him. They apparently got into an argument on the way, and she pulled away as soon as he got out of the car and left him there, 40 miles from home. Wife took him to cash the check (he has no checking account), and then drove him back home. It seems little wonder the guy has so many issues getting his life together. Besides his father almost completely ignoring him his whole life, it appears his mother isn't exactly up for Parent of the Century either.
People.

Got some stuff done Saturday before I pooped out for the day. Picked up a new fill valve at Rural King for the upstairs toilet, which decided to not shut completely off starting Thursday night. Got that installed with no leaks (a first, I think). Started on the removal of the fence at the side of the barn. It's 1-1/4" solid bar welded together, and it's not going quietly into the night. I figured the reciprocating saw would be better than cutting wheels on the grinder, but it turns out not so much. I'm getting about three cuts with a blade before having to replace it, and the third cut is a chore. After getting a corner assembly removed and cut up, and three horizontal bars removed, I threw in the towel for the day. My hands, forearms, and back are still hurting this morning. Trying to decide if a cutting torch or a chop saw would work better. The DeWalt is just beating me up too much, and taking too long.

Sunday was spent mostly puttering. Went to the bakery and picked up some donuts at The Wife's request. They were already picked mostly clean by the time I got there at 7am. Puttered around in the studio with my aching hands most of the rest of the day while The Wife sat in the living room finishing up a cross stitch project she's been working on for awhile. She decided to "take the day off" for Mother's Day. At her request, I made lasagna for dinner ... one of her favorite meals.

The flyover they staged around the STL area, RNG, were some Missouri National Guard B2 bombers. As cool as that sounds on the surface, I was initial struck by the question, "Why does the Missouri National Guard need stealth bombers?" Had me wondering if they are planning raids on neighboring states. If so, I was wondering if they might start with Chicago and Springfield. :D

39F and cloudy@ 10:45, high today 45F, low 34.

Yesterday's storm did manage to develop where we got hit pretty good ... the green area on the radar in-between the north and south stronger areas was replaced by yellow and orange by the time it got to us. Pretty windy with some rain but overall not too bad ... did not hear any thunder.

Another inside day today as we wait for warm weather to arrive ... :(

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day.

A mostly clear and sunny 33ºF for today's low temperature; 46ºF and raining presently; and I anticipate a high temperature in the low to mid 50ºF's and possible T-storms in the early PM. Another worthless Freeze Warning for this area tonight-tomorrow. Our growing season has not yet started. This afternoon looks interesting.. From the NWS/B-N Office: Scattered afternoon strong to isolated severe thunderstorms in the interior (mainly north/west of I-95), capable of producing hail and localized gusty winds"

3 new bird specie additions to the bird count this AM: 1 Eastern King Bird and 3 Baltimore Orioles and 2 Indigo Buntings. B.O.'s and I.B.'sused to be a rarity around here; the past few years they have become more frequent visitors and last year we started to actively feed them (oranges). Most years we start winding down the bird feeding somewhat. This year since we are probably not going anywhere for vacation(s) we decided to maintain the feeder stations and bird counts. I may make a special run to the garden center for another metal feeder pole to replace the one the bear snapped in half at the ferrel, more mixed seed, and an oriole food/feeder. I was going through a tub of suet every 2 days; now it's getting close to 1/day.

Rswyan- Thanks for sharing your deer picture. You have a nice looking property.

Don- Congratulations to your Niece and husband.

Dennis- Thanks for sharing the video and bluebird picture. B.B.'s are still a rarity around here.

Thomas- Thanks for sharing your turkey picture. I am hearing Toms, but not seeing any.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.
