The first grapple fits it's design criteria. Lightweight to not impact overall lift capacity. Easy to install or remove. Modular to fit neighbors pallet forks. The hydraulic cylinder is easily moved to a larger grapple.

What's the importance of that?

I only have to buy one cylinder, line set, and fittings to be used on multiple implements.

For a small investment of $200-$300, I prefer to keep quick attach implements -- wait for it -- quick attach

A minor detail called a budget.

The only word you have used in this conversation that makes any sense is the word "minor".

You own a +$25K tractor, yet are unwilling to spend ~$120 or so plus hoses vs. forced to change out a cylinder each time you want to use a different implement.

So again, I ask: Why?

You know what, on 2nd thought, don't bother answering: this is so retarded it's not worth discussing.

Then step away.

I can understand perfectly. For some of us that tractor purchase was a major investment. If money was no object he most likely would have gone out and bought a grapple rather than building one.
Some of us can only buy as we can afford it, and coming up with a couple hundred dollars for something we can get buy without takes planning.

Nice build BTW, although even I could see from the start that version two was coming sooner, rather than later.
