Good Morning!!!! 60F @ 5:45AM. Sun and clouds mixed. High 86F. Winds WNW at 5 to 10 mph.
That new porch looks like a fine place to enjoy a cool adult beverage at the end of the day, Ted.
I don't blame you for not waiting, David. Looks delicious!
From the looks of some of the tools you guys use, I've led a very charmed life when it comes to oil filters!
Some birthday present, eh Thomas?:confused2:
Sleeping with the glass sliders open these days to let some cool evening air in. The closest neighbors raise ducks and geese, and I can hear a mountain lion prowling around out there this morning. It's got 'em all agitated, and they're sure makin' a racket.
Got the door lock actuators installed yesterday and found out the kit I bought includes an alarm system controller to work the actuators. Kind of a crappy alarm, so all I'll use from the kit will be the actuators and the nice brackets that came with them. Maybe I could put the alarm in the truck?
Spent the rest of the day reading through the alarm installation guide; that things got more wires than Carter has liver pills. Only gonna need a handful of the three dozen or so provided, so I marked the sections in the instruction sheets that apply. Just figuring out which part was what was a challenge. They all had part number stickers on 'em, but the number on the parts had an extra zero on the end compared to the ones on the parts list. :duh: Right about then I got a text from my bodyman neighbor inviting himself to a beer on the back porch, and I was more than ready for one myself.
I do need to clear a trail to a part of the property I found after the fire, Don. There's a hillside terrace with not too much slope that looks like it might make a fine rifle range, if I can just get to it. Need to study up on notching into hillsides first, though.
You all made me go look at the photos again; the reach on that BH is only fourteen feet. Looks like I'll have to get up off my butt for that beer after all. When the old tractor broke, I was at a bad spot trying to reach down hill with the 'hoe to keep digging. The back wheels of the tractor were just over the brow of the hill, and the gearbox and stabilizers were the only thing keeping it from rolling down. Pretty sure this new one'll keep me out of that kind of trouble.
Got a call around noon yesterday from the truck driver's wife. She was wanting to know if there'd be enough room to turn the truck and trailer around, either in the cul-de-sac where the driveway starts, or down at the end of the driveway by the house. I suggested she have her husband call me when he's a few minutes out, while there's still good cellular reception, and I'd meet him with the side-by-side in the cul-de-sac and show him the way in. That way he can decide what he wants to do; it really doesn't matter to me. Anyway, it sounds like he'll be here sometime this morning.:cool2:
Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start!
