The bucket on my '05 2910 will not hold neutral and I think the loader control valve is malfunctioning. I searched the part number in Branson book but it doesn't cross reference to anything online. Does anyone have the model number for a 2-spool valve that will work and that I can readily get at Northern Tool/ TSC/ Amazon?

When you say the bucket will not hold neutral, what exactly do you mean? Is the bucket dumping over time? Valves rarely are the issue.

The bucket goes to the full dump position.

Is it going to full dump with power or just dumping itself if left in the air?

As far as what valve will fit most any of the smaller valves would fit the porting and fitting size may require some adapter fittings.
It would be hard to say the best and easiest unless someone had replaced there valve also.
Also it may be difficult to find a valve with a low enough flow rating?
Baileys has this 10gpm valve;
Prince Two Spool Loader Valves (LVT Series): Prince No. LVT1GB5AB1, Standard handles, SAE 8 Top Inlet/Outlet, 2 Spool, Relief, SAE 6 Top Work Port, 22131
And I think I have seen the same one at Surplus Center.

I had that happen too (stuck valve)
I removed the rubber cover , then I sprayed it with wd40 like I was putting a fire out!
Be sure to move the handle every direction while spraying, (with the engine off)
After a while it worked, it had gotten really dry and the small shafts were getting stuck in the valve.
Other oils will work too.
Hopefully thats all you need to fix it, cause a new one will set you back some.

If it is going full dump immediately, and you don't have any external leaks, then I would be looking closely at the valve. The valve is rather simple. You should be able to remove and check the spools as well as clean everything up.

If it takes several hours to dump, I would be looking closely at cylinder seals as the problem. This is more common than a valve issue.

It’s immediate. The bucket can be held in place by holding the lever. Two of the hydraulic lines blew a few weeks ago when someone else was using it and they had them replaced. I was thinking there may be air in the system. Any plausibility to that thought?

Check that the lines were correctly replaced?

Then disconnect the curl cylinder line(s) and start the tractor up with the disconnected line either routed back to the tractor fill port or a bucket and see if you are getting fluid flow with the valve in the neutral position (centered)

Air gets out after a few cycles. That should not be the problem.

However, it's very odd to burst two hydraulic lines. I think what caused the lines to blow, also cause issues on either the cylinder seals (most likely) or a cracked valve block (unlikely but possible).

Pure speculating, but it does look like whoever used the tractor, had some decent speed going on and the bucket hit something causing a spike in pressure bursting the hoses and possibly the cylinder seals.

I'm still very reluctant that the valve is the issue here.

With that info, I would pull the rubber boot on the joystick and look closely at the linkage. Maybe a loose bolt or broken bracket. If the person used the joystick as a handle to get on or off the tractor, or got his jacket or something hung and put extra weight on it, something could be broken.

There was a guy that posted some time back that he got hung up on his joystick and actually bent a spool. I found that hard to believe and told him so. Turns out he did bend a spool causing his issues. You never know.

I own 2910i with BL10 loader, my bucket did the very same thing, I had replaced loader joy stick and valve, then my brother suggested I find a machine shop and ask about rebuilding cylinders on bucket and joy stick control . If when you remove cylinder and rod falls out instead of staying inside cylinder tube, the cylinder is bad, mine was, so I took both cylinders, even though the right one stayed retracted, best to do both. I paid about 250 for both, and about 150 to have joy stick valve rebuilt, I was very pleased. The cylinders are metric. The loader would lift, the bucket would tilt if I held joy stick, then that didn't work, so by loader lifting most likely loader joy stick control valve is not the problem, the bucket cylinder 's seals and wipers are bad, if rod isn't bent, rebuilding in my opinion is way to go. Thanks

I finally got the tractor all back together and it’s running like new. The issue was the seals in both cylinders. After changing them, the steering cylinder started dumping fluid so I had it rebuilt. After all that, it got all new fluids and all new filters. Thanks for the advice and feedback.

Cool.

Glad you're up and running again.

if you dont mind me asking GS where did you have your steering cylinder rebuilt at? i've been looking for a good shop capable of doing so for our Service department for a while now.

Silliman Fluid Power near the airport in Sarasota. They have great service and do good work. Turn around time was about 4 business days.
