John Deere Sign- Nostalgic

The attached metal sign picture was given to me by a friend from Church whose father ran a John Deere dealership in Monroe NC many years ago. I don’t know where he got it but he knew I had a JD tractor. Just thought I would share with Deere fans. A bit of nostalgia.

My grandfather used own the old John Deere tractor with metal paddle wheels on the rear, which is pictured on that sign. I believe he ran his tractor on kerosene and it never got stuck. But he was constantly making repairs and doing maintenance all the time. Almost everyday maintenance was required. This was way back in the time, when most county roads were simply dirt and gravel roads. Thank God for the modern diesel tractors we use today.

Wow! I didn’t know these items were out there being sold. I keep mine in the Rec Room by my reloading table. My grandsons like tractors and Green/Yellow colors gets their attention.

Flea markets are full of that kind of signage. 99% is reproduction stuff.

Have mine mounted to some weathered oak fence boards that were exposed in a 3 board fence for 50 years..
