I have been going through my 66 and noticed the board in the back is broken and needs replacing I guess this is the wad board?? I don't know. Does anyone know what size the board is ? Looks like big chunk of hay may have got on it and the plunger hit big chunk of hay and broke it. Any work from you gurus on that?

When I had my old 66, I made my own wadboards for it. ---Baled a million bales with the old thing, but the boards do wear out, and used to be available from NH. ---kinda expensive so I started making my own. I think factory used oil soaked rock maple for the originals, but I used different stuff. Oak works good if you cant get maple. The trick is to oil soak the wood real good and keep putting oil on it when you are baling with it. Every time you park for the night, soak that sucker good and it then has a chance to go in the pores of the hardwood. --- They will also last longer if kept oiled.

Thanks I will make my own but looking at the parts online looks like I'm Missing the adapter chain to hook the board to the chain as well as the metal pieces that go on the wad board I guess I may have to try to build something. I really want to see that old thing run but don't want to sink tons of $ in it.
