Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

So long as my local HF don't close, all is well with me...
I posted a notice from them in either CV 4 or 5 from 'Eric' saying they were exempt as an 'essential service'.

Would be unlikely to ascertain unless you tracked by comment. If someone is a regular poster and vanished, you could ascertain that they became a victim.

Or they just got fed up with some of the hooey here and wandered off.

I must have missed it. Certainly an essential service, most everyone I know of needs the HF fix regularly.....:D

Far as coming or going on here, when comments get stupid (and they do), I just chuckle to myself and leave a snarky retort. How I roll.

I believe it would be very difficult to impossible to ascertain if any posters either got fed up and quit or expired and quit. I would imagine that with the huge amount of registered posters on this site and the length of time it has existed (I'm one of the originals though for years I refrained from commenting and just followed along), that probably more than a few on here have gotten the Chinese Flu and maybe some have expired as well.

To those folks, my heart goes out but at this juncture I'm doing my level best not to get infected. I don't want to become a statistic in as much as I am already a survivor.

I know that is off thread so we can return to normal programming now...

I kept the Oregon bag, the chain came in, for both Lynxx pole saw and chain saw. I'll get a picture of the pole saw one .. in the morning and post it for you.

BYW .. the pole saw bar is a 10" not 14". The Lynxx chain saw is 14".

HARBOR FREIGHT

Dear Harbor Freight Community,

As we’ve been following the news over the last few days, we’ve heard about the severe shortage of protective gear for hospitals, healthcare workers and first responders as the impact of COVID-19 is being felt across the country. America depends on these heroes every day and in the days ahead we will depend on them even more. At Harbor Freight, we want them to know that they can depend on us too.

So we’ve decided to donate our entire supply of the personal protective equipment items listed below to front line hospitals with 24 hour emergency rooms in the communities served by our stores.
• N95 Masks
• Face Shields
• 5 and 7 mil Nitrile Gloves

If you work at a hospital with a 24 hour emergency room in need of these items, please ask the office in charge of procurement at your hospital to click here so they can provide us with the information we’ll need to determine if we can make a donation. If you’re not with a hospital, but would like to give us the name of a hospital with a 24 hour emergency room in your community that might need our help, please email us at hospitalhelp@harborfreight.com, identify the hospital’s city and state in the subject line, and our team will follow-up.

PLEASE DO NOT MAKE REQUESTS AT YOUR LOCAL STORE OR OUR CALL CENTER AND PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT HOSPITALS—THEY’RE BUSY HELPING THEIR PATIENTS.

For hospitals we’re able to help, we’ll email them a voucher when the supplies are available for pick up at their local Harbor Freight Tools store.

Although we certainly won’t have enough of these supplies to fill everyone’s needs, we’re going to donate everything we’ve got. We also recognize that there are so many other critically important people responding to this crisis and that there is need everywhere. We’ve chosen to focus our efforts on hospitals with a 24 hour emergency room with the hope that we can help as many people as possible right now.

Thank you and God Bless,

Eric Smidt

The 1" C Clamps (37842) came in mighty handy for raising metal roof panels. Tossed a rope over the purlins, attached to the clamp tightened down as much as I could. Position the panel over the eave from the ground, then pull the rope from inside the shed area. Panels slid right into place and could be held until I could drive screws.

Thanks for posting that. its 3 hours after your post and I haven't received that email yet.

I was just about to phone the three stores in the region to see if they had gloves so your post was helpful.

Good for HF!

RE: Corona Virus-19

Got the email, was glad to read. This should get more press

And how many of you guys are using the HF INFRARED LASER THERMOMETER ($18 w/ coupon) for personal temperature measurement?

I've two, I compared them to an ice bath and they read about 5 deg F different, one high, one low, but seem to be accurate once that is factored in. Since I bought them mainly for checking temp on things like welds and wheel hubs they are close enough for forehead thermometers.

Oh, and if you do try them use them as forehead thermometers, not rectal.

Be safe and stay spaced.

I think I mentioned it last week but I scored a PLASMA CUTTER at the last sidewalk sale for $225. I got a chance to use it on some 1/4" steel last weekend and it is a pleasure to use, had the amp dial in the middle and it blew right through and since the slag on the bottom was hard I think it was too high on amps or low on air...

Mine reads 3.5 deg F lower than it should but it seems to be consistent. As long as I know how much to add to the reading I guess it's OK.

Nice. Open box, slightly dented? Why so cheap?
