At 4:30 am this morning I was pulling main lobby waiting room chairs... we have a spacious lobby size wise but family/friends can no longer remain in lobby and removing chairs was from the top down

Hospital CEO is screening all who enter... we are not ER as surgery scheduled and do critical such as detached retina but many elective cancelled... ortho still going forward.

Local grocery store is doing a good job and no issues to report... other than uptake in theft... happens all the time... purps make no effort to conceal or run because it is known nothing happens.

Costco... not so good and local made national news Friday... gridlock

Had to make a local Walmart run -
NEEDED Diesel fuel, Stabil, 2 stroke oil, Seafoam, 5 lbs self rising flour
Wanted - Turkey hot dogs, Spicy frozen sausage patties, vegetable seeds.

They were low on the flour, out of the dogs, out of NON-spicy sausage (plenty of spicy sausage, :) ). All else was fine.
I think they had not stocked the shelves from the weekend because there were only about 20 cars in the parking lot.

Now on the TV Cuomo is shutting down New York.

I need to plant peas.

For those that like numbers... here are some numbers... https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2020/03/covid19_the_numbers_tell_the_story.html

I have heard many that are wondering if the actions taken will stop the virus.. it is not about stopping it but rather about slowing the spread so that we don't overwhelm the medical facilities.. but in many areas we already have. Local large hospital is full, no beds available. Our health insurance provider is telling customer service reps that appts that can be virtual will be moved to virtual. I tried to refill my prescriptions online (we usually do mail order with 90 day supply), but it gave me an error saying to call pharmacy.

What is Italy doing that is so wrong? 24,747 confirmed 1809 dead.
What is Korea doing that is so right? 8,162 confirmed 72 dead
What is Germany doing? 5,813 confirmed 13 dead
How have the Russians managed? 63 confirmed 0 dead

What are we doing ? 3,774 confirmed 69 dead

By the way, the rest of the world combined has now overtaken China in total number of cases. China has finally reached 81,020 cases, but it has slowed to a trickle. China is "on the mend" and apparently going back to work with 67,843 recovered. 3217 dead.

Something tells me the numbers are going to start climbing in China again in the near future, if you remotely believed their numbers to start with.

I'm waiting to hear from an attorney about filing a suit.

It seems they're all busy rewriting wills for people who've heard about Covid-19 and know their days are numbered.

PM me to be sure you spell my name correctly on that, ok?

Today there are no answers but just questions and more questions seeking medical facts that are not near at hand. Get tested then you and wonder if it is a false negative or a false positive until you test again then have the same info.

Today medically speaking the SWAG rule it all we know. SWAG stands for Simple Wild Aonkey Guess.

We know COVID-19 seems to be trigger by a form an evolved virus that we may not have met until very recently. There has been work on a very similar virus in chickens (Israel?) I read last night. Other humans are our biggest known risk factor today so that simplifies what to do for some and others especially in the medical community potential death is a daily reality.

Fear weakens the human resistance all of these things out there that we can not see. This virus is something we can not see unaided but any antiviral protocol that we follow is about all we can do.

If you are reading this and are posting here then you are at least alive currently.

There is nothing to argue about because no one at the top or bottom knows any absolute answers today. Going out and trying of find one more roll of toilet paper could lead to you never needing TP again is the way I see it this morning. Now I have to go sign some company tax returns before the PO closes.

I got a call and the CPA is doing everything higher tech so all is set without me leaving the house tax filing wise. I charged the Leaf overnight and did drive it down to the bottom of the hill (.125 miles) and came back up WOT for the sake of the lithium ion battery health.

Be safe and someday we will have some answers to the current unknowns.

While I am not for handouts, this is a new monetary crisis right now. We don't need the FED infusing money into the system - in the hopes that banks will lower rates to whomever, whatever. I think we are beyond that. Maybe the FED should think about giving loans direct to those workers/businesses. Wall Street can take care of itself, but what we are seeing is that wage workers will be out of jobs. That's going to have a huge ripple effect.

And... I only read the headline URL posted. Maybe the article is worded differently.

I drove past a farm stand up in Aroostook County last week which had stacks of 5 pound bags of dried beans for sale. I thought about stopping but already have several pounds in the cupboard; as well as another 1/2 bushel or so which still needs to be shelled.

A day before that a store in the nearby village of Danforth apparently announced on FB that they had enough supplies on hand to stock the entire town for a year... two hours later they posted that they were sold out.

the first thing you tell me is I'm foolish. ?? Hardly...
My primary doc is frankly not well informed btw...and I bet most aren't. We are unprepared for this.
Why isn't the Red Cross or Civil Defense better equipped? Seems to be another New Orleans...

It is too bad your doctor is not able to advise you. In hind sight, maybe you should have changed doctors long ago; but maybe some of the members here are doctors and will PM you.

BTW, every country is unprepared. Playing the blame game is not going to change what will happen. It is impossible to be prepared for every type of emergency so in spite of your fear, keep a measure of reality. I am high risk, but not as high as you are. There are things we can do to limit exposure but I suspect it is just a delaying action...hope I am wrong. Yes, it sucks but it is what it is.

Good luck and sorry about the "foolish" comment. I truly regret saying that.

That's different. Most people I know go to JCPenny's for a suit. A few who are more affluent visit a tailor. I've never known anybody to get one from a lawyer. He must have listed it on CL? :D

Could someone please help me figure out how to ignore a member. This is the first time, after many years on many forums, I have concluded someone has so little to offer.

Thanks for you help.

I had to look but you simply click on the username; "view profile" then in the upper left hand corner click on "Add to ignore list".

I don't ignore. I read everyone's posts. Even those that I place less value on. Once in awhile they post something of value. And when they do I commend them for it.
