Just had a google news feed on my phone from a TV station in North Carolina...3 people died this week from the flu, which makes 134 so far this season in NC. I wasn't paying much attention at first and thought it was corona, but then realized no one has died in NC from Covid, but surprised to see that 134 have died from flu.

Stopped at Costco after work, and it was packed, checkout lines to the back of the store. I wanted more chicken, they were out. Did get some ribs for the IP, few frozen things, another case of water, some snacks.
Right low beam headlight burned out on Subaru, replaced left 2 weeks ago. Stopped and got one on way home, since it was getting dark. Thought it was wrong bulb, until I discovered I was putting it in high beam instead of low.

My breakfast with friends went well.

My first day of the part time job was supposed to be 4 hours, it turned into 5 1/2, it won’t last long at that rate. I’m trying to get through the first few days since my friend, the owner, is going out of town for a few days and trying to catch up. But next week 16 hours will mean 16 hours, or I’ll be helping him find someone to replace me pretty quick. The work isn’t hard or unfamiliar, but my time was hard earned and we don’t know how much we have, so I prize it over a few $$$. Rant over. LOL

Cool and cloudy after morning rain on this side of the bay, mid seventies tomorrow, then cooler on the weekend.

Drew, hope your procedure can get you some answers.

J- I believe many here have ideas about what they are going to implement, when the virus gets near. I know I do. Just not sure when to implement, or for how long. I would give it a wide berth if I were you. As many should here. There are more than a few that just scoff at it in the other thread.

Randy, work your fingers to the bone, whaddayaget?

I decided to clean the north side of my metal barn today. I did not want to use a bleach solution, for fear of accelerating rust. So I just mixed some simple green with some water and sprayed it on. It helped, but not nearly as efficient as the Jomax/Bleach solution. My arms got tired from all the pressure washing up high on the ladder.

I want to paint the fascia and my front porch tomorrow. Not sure if I'll get it all done.

Also need to till the garden to kill the sprouting weeds, plant the small baby squash seedlings and a few other seedlings. I hope winter doesn't freeze us again.

Ron, nice photos.

Been having a weekly study session with our associate Pastor and his wife. Studying C. S. Lewis' The Screwtape Letters. It's been good.

Good evening all. 63F for the start, partly cloudy, and light breeze. Wind became moderate, then eased back off, sky became mostly clear, then became overcast, and high temp was 83F. Bike ride early in morning, followed by leaf pick up, almost 2 lawn bags, and then nap.
Plan on catching up tomorrow or next day, all the ten day has is 50% rain every day, 4 inch total forecast.
prayers for all.

The news this evening reported that ALL public schools in the state of NM will be closed starting Monday. There are now 4 confirmed cases in the whole state. I guess it is a preemptive maneuver....

Those vibrating subwoofers remind me of those $.25 quarter machines in those backroad "No Tell Motels;" where traveling Bikers like RNG j/k and miscreants like myself may bed down for the night........ But that's what I've been told ;)

Never saw the subwoofers in quite that light, Jay, but you know, I think you're onto something!

One of the only times I ran into one of those vibrating mattress things was on a coast-to-coast-to-coast ride in '03 with a couple of buddies. We checked into an economy room in West Virginia, not far from a really good restaurant. The first sign of trouble was when my buddy took a shower and his shampoo turned into something very akin to wheel bearing grease in his hair, and it wouldn't wash out. The water was so hard I'm surprised it didn't walk out of the bathroom after him. Ever the curious monkey, I put a quarter in the box by the bed, and the thing made so much noise we had a hard time listening to the news on the TV. And it wouldn't shut off! Finally tracked down where it was plugged in; I was amazed not to have any fresh bedbug bites in the morning. The Quaker smorgasbord that morning almost, but not quite, made up for the previous evening. I'll never forget the 3'x3'x18" high pile of bacon that greeted us as we entered the line, with hardly anyone else in the restaurant with us. I don't think we stopped to eat the rest of the day...

I watched the complete version of Michael Osterholm interview in bits and pieces yesterday, and about the only thing he said that might help keep you safe is avoiding large public gatherings. He said lots of hand washing wouldn't hurt anything, but the the primary method by which the virus is spread is breathing the exhalations of someone that is contagious. And because of the long asymptomatic incubation period, and the high levels of virus present in the upper respiratory system during that time, inhalation is very likely the primary way the virus spreads. He concluded by advising us with the same pleas all of us hear during our annual physicals: get more exercise, get more sleep, eat a healthy diet, and try to be in the best condition you can be in if/when you're infected. Somewhat off topic, but still very pertinent, he went into some depth on chronic wasting disease, which is killing thousands of deer on trophy ranches, and native deer when one of the store bought deer escapes. The take away to that story is that the disease can jump from deer to man, either during butchering or consumption, and it is very long lived in the soil. Kinda makes me want to give up on huntin'.
