43°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 57° today. Voice on the radio this morning suggested we may be flirting with 70° by Sunday. I'm OK with that.

Sunny and dry all week should mean the ground drying out enough that I'll be able to re-install the flagpole this weekend.

Saw somewhere that Illinois averages 10 tornadoes per year. That sounds low to me. Seems we get that many or more just here in Southern Illinois.

I don't vote in primaries. Never been a member of any political party.

Kyle, I just had that recall taken care of about a month ago. They replaced a sensor and the catalytic converter. There was never any indication that it ever ran hot, but it was starting to use some oil.

I'm with you BEF. I'd like to have a drone, too, but if I'm going to pay the FAA for a license, it's going to be for something I can be inside of while it's flying.

Looks like you're starting to see a light at the end of the bureaucracy tunnel, RNG.

Nothing wrong with that. And I assume you do know that regardless of which party you identify with, or the primary you voted in, doesn't keep you from voting for a member of the other party in the general election.

G5 or G6 blades are very good. I got G6 first set. My backup set is G5. They seem to be more aggressive for lift than G6. Price was $49 with free shipping. 3 blades 60” mower.

OEM blades for my LS 84" Rear Finish Mower were about $76 each x 3 = $228 plus expensive shipping. I found Oregon G5 blades for $17 each. They are identical, in dimensions, except length which is 1/8" shorter or 1/16" on radius. My blades have an overlap of over 1" so .. no issue. I can get same in G6 for just a few $$ more per blade. The OPS shipping is flat rate $9.95 per shipment and they always ship very soon after order is placed.

I found the correct G6 mulching blades, for my 72" Kubota ZD1211, on Amazon, for just over $14 per blade and free prime shipping. I had been buying them on eBay for $16 each plus $10 shipping.

Good morning to all! Low of 26, going up to 59 today, sunny. Yesterday had a light cloud cover, but no rain. Down south and East, they had anywhere from an inch to 2 inches of rain.... all heading over to Texas.

Drew, glad you had a restful sleep. Take it easy when clearing out the stuff... no heavy boxes this time.

RNG, congratulations on passing the inspections.... we knew you would without question!

PJ, sorry to read about the catastrophic damage to the engine. You would think there would have been some prior warning like smoke out of the exhaust or something... Good luck searching for a new vehicle.

Yesterday was “ pre-op “ day. Lots of paperwork to fill out at each place... had to get EKG, then go to get primary Drs exam, then bloodwork, then a drive all the way into the big city to get a chest X-ray. That took longer to drive into town than to get the X-ray.... I did not like sitting in all those waiting rooms with a bunch of sick people.....

The knee is aggravated this morning, must be from all the in / out of the truck and driving around yesterday... low back is also complaining, from what ??

Today I am hoping to spread the last of the gravel in the driveway / parking area. Then a few little odds and ends projects. Probably a run to WallyWorld for a few things.

Sad to see all the damage and loss of life from the tornadoes in Tenn. It did not seem that the alarms gave any early warning, just a couple minutes.

Made it all the way up to 79F yesterday afternoon. Very warm for this early in March here.

Thanks for all the drone feedback, guys! The more I read about the JDI Mavic Mini, the more I like it. It would be very useful to get an aerial shot of the open trenches to document what wire and pipe went where, so I may pull the trigger on one today.

A box showed up yesterday morning with a pair of HomeKit compatible video cameras, and they're working very well. The images are available in Apple's Home app, right along with the light switches, thermostat, and other sensors, and are available to see when I'm traveling. And all protected by the security and encryption built into HomeKit. I had a couple of questions during the installation, which were quickly answered by native English speaking tech support staff, something I didn't expect for what seems to be a Chinese product. Seems like I had to call because I couldn't find any user manual, other than a very brief Quick Start pamphlet that came in the box. So that's on today's agenda, even if it means calling their tech support again.

The visit by the building inspector went very well. He commented about the shallow trench up near the house, but was OK with it with the metal conduit. He checked my pressure gauge on the gas pipe, asked me how long it had been on there (5-6 days) and let a few PSI out to make sure the gauge was working, and that was it. We spent the rest of the time talking about the Camp Fire (his house was badly damaged), the homeless shenanigans going on in Chico, and even the weather. Really nice guy, and not the same one as last time. Only one final inspection to go when it's all done.:thumbsup:

Cleaned up the trench for the shipping container one last time and got the plastic drain pipe installed using both the new and some left over pieces. Also used some of the heavy left over plastic tape left over from wrapping the propane line fittings to fasten grates and secure the joints between pieces. It'll be interesting to see how that tape holds up.

Got to thinking how I'm going to compact the dirt going back into the trenches, and I think I'm going to get some 4x6 lumber and chunk it up into 4' lengths, stack it up in the trench, then run over it with the tractor. If I fill the trench in 6" lifts, that's four rounds of compaction, and 5 boards to reach the bottom of the trench. It'll take a while, but I really don't want the same kind of subsidence I got over the trench I had last year in front of the house for the sprinkler system, especially in the two trenches that run under the generator pad.

The electrical contractor is supposed to drop off the solar panels this morning, and I've got a bone density scan to go to this afternoon. I'm told to wear pants with no metal in them, so it looks like sweat pants will be the order of the day.:confused3:

My Wemo controllers work on Apple home. I found that to be very handy when I was unable to walk with GBS, and could use Siri. Looks like a home connected iPad is required for remote access.

I have been thinking of getting a mower for the 3025 ever since selling my 6ft finish mower with the MT125 last year. I started looking online this past weekend, prices sure did increase! Ones that I looked at last Sept. went up almost $500!

I remembered that David got his BH from Betsco and checked their site. Their prices were actually a little less than last year, plus had a $65 off coupon, so pulled the trigger... free shipping too! I just hope it is not coming off a slow boat from China....

Good Morning. It was 67° this morning. It’s now 70° and foggy here with expected high of 77° this afternoon. We’ve got rain heading our way .. looks like an hour from now on radar.

This will hopefully be a “shop day” .. we really need the rain.

I’m sooo glad Texas Primaries are over. The never ending political commercials were mind numbing .. not unlike most things on TV.

which CVS was going to discount to 75 for me, cost me 24 bucks. What a racket drugs are.
