The COVID-19 situation is not to be taken lightly but I feel some people really need to keep informed but also keep things in perspective.

Makes one wonder if stress related mortality lately outnumbers COVID-19 deaths.

A distinct possibility.

You are correct. Amazing how many people I see with COPD after a lifetime of smoking, carrying their O2 around. Not to mention the alcoholics... Can't even imagine the cost of those two to our medical system. And yet... we are worried about a cold virus.

Some of the farmers around here drink so much, you could slice their livers and use the slices for ballistic plates.....

The problem with that number is, those are only people who were sick enough to see a doctor and were tested for the coronavirus. That does not count those who did not get sick enough to see a doctor or who were not tested for the coronavirus and recovered or passed.

this will pass and in a year it won't be talked about. there is approximately 350 million people living here is account for illegals. So what is the percentage of people infected? .0000123 Its all about perspective. Lets not get crazy yet

Unfortunately, the virus found its way into a nursing home. Of course the death rate would be higher.

I am following this very closely as I have many friends/business partners in China, Korea, and Japan and travel there regularly. Last trip was Singapore/Japan in early February. Also this is hitting home personally and literally. This is happening where I lived for many years. My kids were born at Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland Wa. where these folks died. I have family a little more than a stone's throw from there.

For those of you who don't know Kirkland, WA. It may be familiar to you that shop at Costco. 'Kirkland Brand' where the first Costco store was opened.

...but unlike an airborne virus, obesity is a disease by choice and habits. çš„ choose sugar drinks, and sugar snacks, and another one, and another one ...
You could only randomly catch obesity like Corona virus if you walk by somebody on the sidewalk and they force you to eat a box of Girl Scott cookies.
..although they do pressure you to buy them! Those little buggers can be very persuasive....and theyæ±*e good cookies... a good cause...you know the story...10lbs later.

Dropped my wife off at a fabric store and parked the car. Went in after her and there were three girl scouts and a mom selling cookies. I looked at them as I passed by, but they said nothing and made no eye contact. So I kept going. If they'd have asked me, I'd have bought a couple boxes.

Found my wife and mentioned the girl scouts and told her the story. She said they asked her if she wanted to buy some. She said she'd get them on the way out.

Puzzled, I said I wondered why they didn't ask me? She said "Because you're scary looking." I said WHAT?

She said "You're big and scary looking. You look intimidating and you scare women and children."

I said babies smile at me. She said they don't know any better. :confused3:
