47 going to 68. Got up early...owl making so much noise that Coco started barking. Coffee made and enjoyed already and ran off one coon and one possum.

PJ sorry to hear about your poor Soul. Some good news...new car!

Sadamo, your ocean view is a million dollar one, but your view of Mauna Kea, the biggest mountain on earth, is a two million dollar one for me, especially snow covered.

Corona is a bad disease, but to keep it in perspective, last year there were about 2000 deaths per week in the US from the flu during flu season, and 20,000 per week from medical and hospital mistakes (sources: CDC, NPR, CNBC).

Too windy yesterday to do much of what was planned, but still got some seat time moving some pallets of firewood and bringing in what me be the last load of the season onto the porch.

Good morning. We had an almost completely dry day yesterday and a good amount of sunshine. It was wonderful to be able to do things outside without wondering when the next soaking would come. Showers have returned this morning, though on the positive side they have chased the light frost away.

David, apart from the occasional molten rock episodes, I thought your paradise couldn't get any better, then you reveal that you also have views of distant mountains capped with snow. Wow !

Drew, great to hear you finally got the path in to your hidden pond

PJ, a car that gives no trouble at all, then dies completely after 175K faithful miles sounds pretty good to me. Better that than lots of smaller things fail that keep having you stranded. Just a shame you now need to arrange it's farewell service so far from home.

Wng, I have a tip for our next investment. Forget about 3M and all those mask sales, instead think about how often people are now washing their hands - sales of hand cream for dried, cracked skin must be set to rocket ! :D

good morning all.
Much warmer morning, 57 going into mid 60's today, rain most of day into tonight.

RNG, I thought antibiotics "cured" Lymes, but it's been months since I was exposed. With severe arthritis already, symptoms may have been masked. Just guesswork until tests come back in a few days.

going food shopping this morning, sure will find the antiseptic wipes first and will wipe down cart handles.
Then a day inside trying to make headway on decluttering, still have one room upstairs full of xmas decorations I don't want..
Need to bag them up and take them down to Goodwill downtown.

Not sure how pics will turn out in somewhat dark woods but tomorrow when it dries up will take some. Pond is much higher now due to rains. When it got low, always wanted to explore in there, find those chests of pirate gold...

I think 175k on an economy car is pretty good. Older trucks, Mercedes diesels, older Volvos, etc seem to do high mileage regularly.
My five year old Ram truck with the hemi didn't get past 20k without having parts of valve train replaced...today's complicated engines have a lot more to break. I wouldn't dream of owning my Audi past the four year warranty period, German cars seem by design to be unnecessarily complicated. I probably will sell the Ram next year, and thinking of getting a 10-20 year old smaller truck to replace it.
Only draw of new vehicle to me is the safety tech. I won't drive anything without air bags.

Buckeye, good point about Bernie.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 28ー with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 49ー with mostly sunny skies. Went for a walk outside for my exercise yesterday. Very nice. Dog trainer this morning. Then see if I can get net and support poles off garden pond. From what I can see there is a layer of ice under 4" of water.
ON my community bulletin board page this email was posted about Covid-19. Seem to me to be some of the best advice.

Drew, hope you do not have Lyme disease. Waiting for picture of path to pond.

David, fantastic pictures.

Looking, what did you find for oil leak.

Bird, I could give you my ice maker. It is taking up space in freezer. Do not use it. Wife used it all the time. It is hooked to Reverse Osmosis system.

RNG, hope your inspection goes good today.

Prayers and best wishes for everyone.

Good Morning All.

Good Morning. It's 66° here this morning and getting foggy. Our high today will be about 77°.

I took advantage of low winds last couple of days for more tree trimming.

I'm staging all the tree trimmings, until we get some rain and I can cleanup the ash, from last burn.

Had to quit early yesterday, as we had monthly Apparatus Check at our VFD last evening.

Today will be more tree trimming if winds stay calm.

Hope everyone has a great "hump day eve" today.

Prayers to all.

I was telling my wife about these numbers and realized I got my math wrong...it's 20,000 deaths per month from medical and hospital mistakes.

Great idea! I was watching an old 1959 episode of The Price is Right with Bill Cullen as host, when they did commercials as part of the show...had a cosmetics lady show how Dove was a beauty cream as well as used for soap.

Around here they seem to be having lots of issues with the lyme testing, with many inconclusive and false negative tests.
