There are many things in this old world that I'll never understand. The ice maker was not working for more than 2 days. So yesterday I called Sears and made an appointment for a technician to come this morning. Then this morning, it was working again.:cool2: So the technician, who only lives about 3 blocks from me, did a little checking of everything, and cleaned under the refrigerator. We have a service policy that will have them come check everything once a year at no cost anyway.

Oh no!

Just like going to the dentist and your tooth stops hurting...:muttering:

You guys are always talking about snow this time of year. Wouldn稚 want you to think I知 totally missing out

Wife took shot of Mauna Kea earlier on her walk this morning.

I grabbed one on drive back from PO just down the road from us looking back our house is out of sight on left.

Snow, as it should be.

Pretty, and in the distance.

I know several people with Lyme disease, Drew, and much as you'd like to find the cause of what ails you, believe me, you don't want it to be Lymes. The symptoms are not pleasant, and can be very debilitating. But the worst part is that there is no cure or effective treatment. Really hope your doctor finds what's wrong, and hope to heck it's NOT Lyme disease...:grumpy:

Just got the call from the dealer a few minutes ago ... the engine is toast. Two of the four pistons have blown rings. $5K-ish for a rebuilt used engine, or $7100-ish for a new Kia engine. Neither of those options sound attractive for a 5-year-old car with 175K miles. Looks like I'm car shopping today.

That's a LOT of miles for a car only 5 years old, Paul! But I've never heard of "blown rings". Broken ones, yes, because they weren't sized properly on installation. The materials used in engines these days for the cylinder wall coating and rings can last almost forever. Did the engine run out of oil? Have you done any googling to see of others have had that same problem? Could be one of those "they all do that" kind of things, and may even be an extended service policy or class action lawsuit out there somewhere.

Anyway, hope you can find something at least as good as your old Soul. FWIW, the Kia Telluride just got rave reviews in Consumer Report's annual car issue.

Good evening all. 54F for the start, overcast, light wind. Moderate wind day, overcast most of the day, and high temp was 66F. Choir practice to start, then putter rest of morning. After lunch bike ride and nap, then walk dog right at sunset.
Eric that is some soggy ground!
Bill good luck finding all your leaks
Rich you scared winter away with your wood splitting!
Randy, nice temp. but a touch windy :)
Billy too bad skunk so fast.
Ron, glad you had nice time w/son & wife too bad grandson slept in. No bike ride Sunday, so no issue.
Buppies at least no new surgeries.
RNG hope inspection goes well and you have made more progress!
David glad to hear guys did ok, goo luck with next roof project.
PJ sorry to hear about car on trip, surprised no warning, and still have not resolved quality issue :smiley_aafz:
Bird icemakers will do that, or work slowly then return to normal output.
David, nice pics
Drew sorry to hear about Lyme's Disease, SIL had it symptom free for years now. Need pics of new path.
Buckeye some of it likely virus and some likely adjustment and some likely Biden winning.
RNG, the Drs have some success in Missouri with treatment. SIL told me that many old folks homes in Missouri have been test dementia patients, and finding Lymes in about 50% of them. Most of that 50% get treatment and improvement.
prayers for all.
