Yes, I believe increased testing may find many more hundreds if not thousands of cases. This is not like Ebola or something, many people have it that don't know they have it. They have a "cold" or "flu" or "feel under the weather". It is not like blood starts running out of your eyes or something. If you ask me, (and no-one did), this is somewhat overblown. This is a particularly bad strain of "flu", that may, and I use that word "may" carefully have a higher death rate than some of the other strains of flu we are used to. The population probably doesn't have much resistance to it as we don't eat a lot of dog and cat over here :). But if we start testing and finding out that thousands have it and have recovered on their own and thousands more still have it, that will LOWER the death rate considerably. Don't forget that regular (what ever that means) flu kills THOUSANDS of Americans each year, Many thousands. So far Covid-19 has killed one that we know of. Maybe more, we just don't know. I could be wrong of course, as I don't have a license to practice medicine. I do have a license to sell you health insurance though. :) And I did stay at a motel a couple of times. :)

I have as well, cheap Super 8's. You have to do a bed bug check before retiring however....

Truthfully, we are all just a little envious that you have it and we don't. :)

It's not the gold which makes me envious... it's the self sufficient homestead which he has set up, the way that I once envisioned.

The second US death has been reported, a man in his 70's at the same hospital as the first. They now believe that the virus has been floating around Washington for several weeks.

Glad it's on the other side of the continent. It can stay there....

Here's a report from a WHO multi-national medical team that went to China to see how they are handling the outbreak. They found China started tracing contacts and testing all the contacts, nearly 100% in both cases, then quarantining or treating based on test results.

"China can now produce 1.6 million test kits for the novel coronavirus per week. The test delivers a result on the same day. Across the country, anyone who goes to the doctor with a fever is screened for the virus."

And statistics, for example Serious and Fatal at various age levels.

It seems the main lesson for other countries is the need to drastically expand health care facilities with so many people needing treatment at the same time.

The WHO sent 25 international experts to China and here are their main findings after 9 days : China_Flu

Gold VS the stock market over 30 years. Quite the different story than gold VS the stock market in the last 15 years.

Has Gold Been a Good Investment Over the Long Term?

"Over the past 30 years, the price of gold has increased by 280%. Over the same period, the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) has gained 1,019% and the 10-year Treasury note has returned 315%.

Over the past 15 years, the price of gold has increased by 278%, roughly the same as the 30-year return. Over the same period, the DJIA increased by 173% and the 10-year Treasury note returned 65%, which are both significantly lower than their 30-year returns.
"

If gold and silver are such great investments, why do the advertisers want to trade their gold for your dollars?

That is what I was thinking after seeing the NPR 6 week statement.
Not sure US CDC could have tested for the virus 6 weeks ago either?

Here we go again... This one (thread) won't last long either.

I wish the moderators would just pull the opinionated BS posts out and leave the sane content behind. Better yet, remove not only the comments but the poster as well....:confused2:

I've missed much of the action but reviewing the closed threads i don't see any issues. Poof you are gone however,. weird. lol
