That's not how that works. recovered over dead would be a better measure of death rate. you can't count people who are active, you don't know if they will be in the dead or recovered column.

3% number is in error from failing to set-up the problem correctly. Of those infections that had a result (lived or died), 91% lived and 9% died. Therefore there is currently a 9% survival rate.

I see your points. The 9% reported by that website is what has happened rather than what may happen. The media reported a 2% death rate when the virus became news in January but apparently they were basing that on the total cases rather than closed cases?

NO POLITICS...

Thats funny, you brought up the politics not me, when you bashed the wrong party in the white house.
Why is it that democrats love to bash Trump, yet when they are asked who they voted for its crickets....
Your your not fooling anyone here but yourself dude.

From what I heard it's looking more like the virus originated in a nearby research laboratory and got out. Developing biological warfare .

This may come across a little selfish and insensitive but I am not enjoying the collateral damage to my 401K the past two days.

At least I'm not the only one who feels that way. My solution has been to avoid checking my account.
Nobody wants to lose money...

As I just mentioned above, I'm also in that category. Unfortunaltely, that's what will make the virus so hard to contain.

I foresee a run on bottles of hand sanitizer....
Today I got lunch halfway between ranch and home at the Travis Blvd Taco Bell. First time in my life I've used the sanitizer dispenser next to the drink dispenser before eating.

Yes that Travis. Next offramp from Air Base parkway. A few miles from where they quarantined the Princess Diamond cruise ship passengers on the AFB.

CDC says it's not a matter of "if" but a matter of "when" the virus spreads in the US. At the present time it is unknown how severe the spread will be but it could be severe. Consequences like hysteria are a possibility.

CDC official warns coronavirus will spread in US: 禅his might be bad''' - syracuse.com

For the record...Both the WHO and the CDC have long suffered from the "boy who cried wolf" syndrome...they have notoriously made bad calls with similar threats/scares...the worst part is they have obviously not learned anything from their many previous blunders...

...Only time will tell what this bug may do but we can be assured the WHO and the CDC will end up once again being the worse for wear and incompetence...
