This may come across a little selfish and insensitive but I am not enjoying the collateral damage to my 401K the past two days.

I haven't even looked. The market's taken some wild bounces in the last couple of years. I just wish the Marketeers would get a grip and not panic all willy nilly over every bit of news.

I'm getting stopped out where I remembered to up my trailing stop losses a couple of weeks ago, but yeah. Ouch.

I will say this a friend of mine approached me a few weeks ago and suggested that if it gets bad, we'll wait it out at his factory. LOL

Delaying the spread long enough for influenza to die down will help our hospitals deal with the issue but everybody is simply talking about risk management, not prevention which means that all of us need to consider that at some point we will be exposed to the Coronavirus and of those diagnosed, sadly nearly one in ten will not make it if the current results continue to hold true.

I agree. I'm guessing if you have tested positive and you die you are added to the count.

I read (somewhere) speculation that because so many Chinese smoke, the death rate may be skewed toward the Grim Reaper because of their love for coffin nails.

I read a few days ago a majority of the new (fewer) cases in China had mild symptoms and it was mainly older (men) with underlying health issues that were most at risk...

Some 80.9 percent of infections are classified as mild, 13.8 percent as severe and only 4.7 percent as critical.

The highest fatality rate is for people aged 80 and older, at 14.8 percent.

The study finds that patients with cardiovascular disease are most likely to die of complications from the novel coronavirus, followed by patients with diabetes, chronic respiratory disease and hypertension.
