I've never understood the "ignore" feature??? How does that work exactly? If you open this thread you will not see any of my posts?? Wouldn't some responses seem out of context and make following the conversation difficult? And if someone "quotes" me you are going to see my post anyway? And have to read it to know what the conversation is about? So the gain would be what? I just don't get it.

I'd say you got it just fine....

Might not be as bad up North. They are isolationists.

Seoul South Korea will have visitors today from 20 nations? Maybe 40 nations? It's a very Worldly City.

For now. Maybe not that way in a week.

Of interest in the article is, of the evacuees from the Princess that tested negative some that arrived back here tested positive when the arrived. That tells me they are not really sure about anyone. It's all very bad ju ju.

I read your comments all the time and I'd say you are a professional regurgitator and king of the snarky comments.

If you are fussing with ovrszd, I set him on ignore for that reason.

I've considered it a few times already. Have a couple snarky ones on ignore already. You really don't need to read their missives to keep with the story line.

*Glad he's not into sauerkraut*......:D

I don't get the ignore thing. Some posts/posters annoy the heck out me and I'm sure I do the same to others at times. I still find tidbits of valuable practical info from those and just the internal process of digging deep to understand the dichotomy is a learning experience in and of itself. Those who choose to block out and ignore the experiences of others are self righteous fools.

BACK TO THE SUBJECT AT HAND..... Things don't look all that bright

CHICAGO, Feb 13 (Reuters) - Ships carrying refrigerated cargo containers of chicken from the United States to China are being diverted to ports in Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam due to the coronavirus outbreak, according to a U.S. poultry export trade group.

The virus, which is causing havoc in the global container shipping trade, is keeping consumers and workers at home in China, delaying purchases at stores and restaurants and slowing the unloading of products at ports.

Chinese ports have run out of space for refrigerated containers, which must be plugged into electrical outlets once they are offloaded to keep frozen meat and other food products cold, Jim Sumner, president of the USA Poultry & Egg Export Council, told Reuters on Thursday.

Frozen and refrigerated product is starting to spoil because of the lack of available power, a manager for a Los Angeles port terminal operator said.

The delays come as China was poised to increase U.S. beef and poultry imports after the Phase 1 trade deal announced last month.

U.S. poultry exporters are being told by freight, port and government officials that shipments of medical supplies and pork needed to bolster China's reserves are being allowed in, Sumner said.

"Everything else is being considered not a priority and is not allowed entry," he said. "China is basically shut down right now."

I hesitate to call them fools. But all the rest I agree with.

Someone might aggravate me at times but I still benefit from their input. I don't need a site feature to keep me in check.

Kinda like getting upset in a discussion and going into a rant about how you are going to stop posting in that particular thread.

Why not just stop. Or why not just stop participating with that particular person. Just seems kinda childish.

Is the winner of the trade war going to be something that is too small to see with natural vision? The best lain plans of mice and men!

Sounds like 2020 has not started off friendly to the fleets of ships sailing the ocean blue.

I used to post in the comment section of the local newspaper, there was one woman who was constantly flagging my posts for no reason. It took a day or so for monitors to review them and comments were only open for 48 hours; so she was essentially controlling the content of any discussion. She finally blocked me, at which point I stopped getting flagged.

BTW: Isn't it about time for China to blame the virus on the CIA in order to weaken the Red economy and reduce our lopsided balance of payments ? Must be Trump's fault...
