Australia Fires Part 2

Koalas are more difficult as they only eat one species of gum leaf from the Manna Gum.
Now 1000 and the smoke is really bad today, haven't seen or heard any reports on the fires.
Looking out of my window visibilty is about 100m, also going to be hot today and I have to go and pick up a jockey wheel for our horse float, 120km round trip for a $10 item:mad:
Girlchild needs to be more observant when towing and raise the $%^@%$ thing!
This is the third one she has busted.

 Been there, done that... pick up extras/spares while you're at it.

It won't be the last time it happens. :)

I am not likely to lose property as the fires are 300km+ away, the smoke is taking its toll though, I think Wagtail is in the same boat.
We had a similar situation 10 years ago and while the local fire fighters were away helping leaving only a skeleton crew of volunteers idiots were out setting grass fores around us, thankfully this time we haven't seen such activity.
On the news last night NSW Police caught two looters helping themselves in businesses that had been evacuated, they got their mug shots on TV, no bail and appearing in court soon.

People have long memories too.
When we were at the fires we would enter houses and other buildings just to make sure there were no people or pets inside, lots of lovely and expensive goods there but never considered taking anything, we left a card saying we had been in and why, found a few pets but never any people, others did.

You left out this part

Aside from that, your comment was spot on.

Hopefully the weather will continue to cooperate, and that the firefighters go home safely.
